Sometimes I watch old movies and shows when I am inside, I don’t watch TV.

Lately I’ve noticed how much I miss the scenery around the state, and San Francisco.

1. Woman on the Run
2. House on Telegraph Hill
3. Vertigo, The Birds
4. Dear Brigitte
5. Bullitt
6. Dirty Harry
7. The Sandpipers (Big Sur)
8. The Lost Boys, Sudden Impact, Chasing Mavericks (Santa Cruz)
9. Play Misty for Me (Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur)
There are others, one was shot in Pismo Beach and a small town, Fallen Angel.

Old TV shows are also causing nostalgia, “Wanted, Dead or Alive”, “The Rockford Files” and others.

“Remember the good old days, when people didn’t go on about nostalgia?”

Man I'm nostalgic for old America, before faggots took over. Before all of the following: cancel culture, fact checks, fucking facebook, communists, homeless everywhere, schools teaching anti-white propaganda and pro-gay propaganda, government that treats us all like their subjects. It's like everything is fucked up lately.

We lost the king of the good ole days. We lost the Good Ass Days.

Speaking of getting Nostalgic, I watch old footage, and even when I see an old Grateful Dead concert in California. And I see all of the Hippies and the Heads, they all looked and acted cool as fuck. Every issue didn't escalate into a fight, or an argument. You could talk to the stranger next to you. When I went over the hill and saw the huge crowd on the beach, you were stoked for the good times ahead. Now you're like... "AH Fuck every Asshole in the world is here!"

I look at an 80's era crowd, and try imagine how more than half of them would eventually become the type of Sons of Bitches, that would demand everyone get an experimental shot, and wear a face covering with zero science behind it. And try to imagine those people one day will be so intolerant of other people's political views, that trying to talk any politics with them in a logical way. Would result in them having a mental breakdown yelling "REEEEEEEEE!".

What in the fuck happened to all of those reasonable, cool people? I used to seek out their company, now I avoid them at all cost.

One thing I miss is the guys in California and the risky things they do for fun.
They have balls of steel, unfortunately some died as a result.

Surfers would go out in huge waves. The guy who “discovered” Mavericks in Half Moon Bay surfed it alone for years before he told others. The ocean is scary as shit in Northern California. There are buoys that measure waves, and one time it measured a 50 foot swell. The device maximum is 50 feet, so it could have been bigger.

I used to go to Sonoma coast with a sidekick, looking at the sea urchins. A guy up there was known to the Fish and Game warden as a spearfishing nut, we saw him out there alone in huge waves and white sharks have killed people there.

Of course, a surfer was killed by a white shark in Asilomar, near Carmel, surfing alone. Another was bitten surfing alone in Davenport.

I knew a guy who dove the Farallon islands for abalone, it’s shark infested, his buddy dove with a Glock.

I knew a guy who did extremely scary mountain biking in steep trails in the Santa Cruz mountains.
He broke his neck in a crash so he is deceased now.

Guys did kite surfing in shark infested waters and didn’t care, but it is safer than surfing where you are bait.
We surfed up at Waddell Creek until we saw a white shark swim behind us a few feet down.
Guys surf there anyway all the time.

I knew guys and girls who would carry tanks down rocky cliffs to scuba dive in remote coves in Big Sur.

I knew a guy who liked climbing, and he would go camping at The Pinnacles and climb.

Once humpback whales were feeding close to Santa Cruz and people were right among them in kayaks and paddle boards. A whale in Moss landing jumped and landed on a guy in a kayak, he wasn’t injured much.

The people I run into now just aren’t that interesting or fun to talk to.

Just because leftoids have destroyed it doesn't mean it can't come back one day to its old glory. It's the circle of life.

Has any place overrun by low-IQ 3rd-worlders ever came back?

Re need a modern Reconquista, where California is retaken by sane people, similar to how Spain was eventually retaken by the Spanish.

The politicians causing rising crime and homelessness has royally fucked this state.

Yes there are places of beauty, but dumb people voting for Democrats have screwed it beyond repair.

I’d leave tommorow if I could afford to.

I’m seriously thinking of leaving if the vaccine becomes mandatory here.
Florida looks nice.
We have no jobs there but we both have mad skills. Hmm.
12   Patrick   2021 Aug 6, 11:11am

I will absolutely leave as soon as they make the jab mandatory. No doubt about that.
13   Onvacation   2021 Aug 6, 11:17am

Are Y'all going to leave me here to fight it out alone?

If we can hold out until the vax tests are done (June 2022, I believe) we won't need to get it.

I suspect that it will be clear by early next year if the Vax is really "safe and effective". In my mind it is already clear that it is neither safe nor effective.

People ARE waking up.

I remember several years ago reading about a guy who went kite surfing, but the wind carried him out too far. All they found was his leg.

Not in this age at least by Western society. Maybe in the future China will purge CA.

Can you shoot a gun underwater efficiently? I assume the bullet would slow instantly, you would need some sort of a harpoon. But I guess if the shark is close is enough you can press the gun onto its flesh or fire it in very close proximity. Still not sure how effective it would be, and the shark is likely to stay underwater mostly.

Sound wave would probably scare the shit out of everything nearby.

Anything I watch that is 'Pre-Covid-Tyranny' evokes nostalgia. People just going to bars and restaurants without masks and having conversations seem like an age gone by. All of the 'California Dreaming' stuff ended when it became Communist Beirut. No way to remove the lurching zombie hordes and corrupt, public service union apparatchiks. Doesn't even matter if you live in the barbed wire enclaves, sooner or later you also have to wade through the shit. Kobe thought he could do it with helicopters, and see how that worked out.

When we were in Arizona, everytime I watched La La Land, I'd miss California. There's a song in the movie talking about the canyons and mesas, something I remember from childhood being uniquely California.

Unfortunately now that we're back all I can think of is how to get out again.
20   Ceffer   2021 Aug 6, 6:27pm

LOL! California recidivists, yearning for the memory of what once was but is no more.
21   Patrick   2021 Aug 6, 6:29pm

It can be recovered!

It can’t. Supermajority in the state senate and assembly, with critters like Richard Pan and Evan Low, who both would be happy to enslave and silence all the peons. Seriously, both would be happy to serve in the USSR style ruling class and subject the rabble to starvation, being reported by their neighbors for wrongthink, and subject to freezing to death in Siberian prisons.

When populations are stupid enough to vote for those guys, there is no coming back. Fuck California.

You need one of these:

I still like my little corner of Cali.

I live in Martinez and my boat and work are in Richmond. Both have relatively low crime (at least on my paths) and you will be left alone if you stay low.

Stay low.

There are special guns for that:
