Our Christian school had a huge influx of new students.

I switched my two youngest to a local Christian school for this past school year. They did really well and the school grew enrollment by more than double from the previous year. They had to hire teachers and open new classrooms.
For next year, my son is going back to public school but my youngest is staying at the Christian school. The education is just better, there’s no wokey dokey crap, and she’s learning good values.

My wife keeps getting homesick but I just keep showing her the shit from CA. My 9yo is a year behind because of CA. My other two that are older had a hard time but could do online learning better and with the schools being open here thrived and aced isats and finals. Parents her were litteraly making school administrators quit that want things closed by going after them.

Time to roll back the funding to public schools.

After California public schools, you will have a child who is ignorant, functionally illiterate, unable to add, subtract, or keep a simple ledger, and imbedded with ludicrous propaganda, but they will be really good at survival techniques, knife fights, and running from 400 pound bellowing, screaming, desk tossing minorities.

Just think of it as Bear Grylls jungle survival camp for white children.

So why are you still paying property taxes to support the schools you don't even send your own kids to?

School funds should follow the student, not the public school district. As I understand it, the public school unions (and gutless politicians) are the problem.

Because armed jackbooted thugs will come to my place and take me away in irons if I don't, duh.

Vouchers would go a long way to fixing problems but dem and union thugs will never let that happen. Its insane that school funding doesn't follow child.

California Public Schools: where the leering public disservice unions, politicians and progressive whackos hold your children hostage and sacrifice them to the demons of idiot political correctness.

Property taxes that fund the schools should not fund those outside the school district said taxed property is in, tho.

It used to be that way in California, but a bunch of Hispanics said that wasn't fair, because then poor areas had poor schools. So there was a lawsuit called Serrano vs Priest and the result was that California property taxes had to go to the state and then Sacramento would distribute money "evenly" to school districts.

And then the result of that was that people in richer areas got quite pissed off that their high property taxes were not even paying for their own schools. They were willing to pay high rates for good local schools that kept their own property values high and their kids well educated, but not to just see it drained away and all schools brought down to the same low level.

Then the scammer Howard Jarvis realized that he could get business property tax limited by lumping it in with resident property tax, and no one would notice because they never read the fine print on these bills. So he came up with a few cases of old people being forced out of their houses by property tax increases, and used those cases to justify Prop 13, never mentioning that it was a ridiculous giveaway to businesses.

Then California realized that property tax revenue overall was falling, and increased the sales tax and income tax to make up for it.

So here we are in California, with shitty schools all over and extremely high sales and income taxes. But hey, at least businesses are protected from ever having property tax increases because they do not necessarily die like all people eventually do. And now I think people can even pass on their low property tax rate to their heirs too.

Not if enough of you form a voting block to either reduce property taxes or change to a voucher system.

Just like with gun control the only hope for CA is Feds stepping in and slapping the commie fucks down.

@patrick when my uncle died a few years ago he still owned the family store that my great grandparents built in the 50s. What was his tax on a multimillion dollar property, six hundred and change if I recall. I wonder what Disneyland pays on original property maybe less than your house.

Right, and parents don't want their children being taught that homo-sodomy is a good thing either.

I'm hearing that it's a damned Tulip Madness in 6-7th Grade now. EVERY kid is Transfurrywhatthefuck. Before they even have their first kiss.
17   Patrick   2021 Jun 4, 7:07pm

My consolation is that it will pass - but not before it has destroyed many lives.

I think that the worst schools (i.e.: schools in areas with the worst parents) actually get more state funding in the form of extra funding for extra programs. The few remaining good schools (Palo Alto, Cupertino) scramble to make up the difference by begging the parents.

Parcel taxes — fixed dollar amount attached to each parcel of land — are becoming popular now because they circumvent Prop 13 and go directly to local use (schools, fire department, library, parks, etc).

Imagine what would happen if local taxes had to cover all local services. People would discover that most of California is a hopeless third-world economy completely unable to keep the water running, sewers flowing, and lights on. I'd imagine that, all told, residents of the Bay Area pay 5x what they receive in services.

Gay and tranny indoctrination classes are the big driver for people to leave. Other big deal is fucking Covid mandates.

For those with kids in LAUSD, 7th grade is when you get 5 weeks of gender bender instead of science.

Many if not most persons identifying as Hispanics are white. A hundred years ago son of Rosita and John self-identified as white as it was advantageous. Now he will identify as Hispanic to get his oppression scores up and to qualify for all kinds of goodies gubbermint will give him. At least this is what I see in TX.

It's no different than people fleeing California for Texas once they've destroyed it by voting blue. The liberal parents in my neighborhood all hung inclusivity banners and BLM signs on their lawn while they fled the public school system and enrolled all their kids in private school.

That's pretty much the very definition of hypocrisy: say one thing, but do another.
