I made 2x in 2 month! We are in ultra bullish conditions. Institutions are pouring in millions and millions of USD into Bitcoin and no end in sight.

You do understand your posts are on a website? A forum actually. 2-3 people actually care about the scam you're involved in. Most don't. You're spam. Your posts are spam. Your comments are spam. You'll learn.

Less than 5% of the population holds it. No one cares. It's not currency. It's not a store of value. You can't even answer a question. You just got scammed by Musk. He'll keep doing it too. I think it's funny for you. I feel bad for the people that will either sell or have dead money for years thinking they'd get rich. Just like the strippers buying multiple houses in 2005-6. That worked out well...

Good point. Tesla buying 1.5B USD worth of Bitcoin was another big step into mass adoption. It will most likely start a trend of many big players investing in Bitcoin and holding it long term instead of cash. Smart! And very good for Bitcoin holders!
Stay warm Bro

Back then, the creator of Dogecoins sold all his coins to buy used Civic. Now it's worth 9B. One can still make money but its possible to become back to almost zero.

Is there a solution for this @Patrick ? Anyway to stop the editing of what is being quoted Because here's what is happening.....

G36 says
I humped a bull for Bitcoin and crypto

And G, not crawling to Patrick, just showing what you do. Mark it personal if you don't like it for all I care. I can play the game just haven't because I know I'm right. I'll go down this road though and win.

I was thinking that a quote should just refer back to the original text being quoted instead of being a copy.

But then, people could still manually type in what they say is "a quote from you".

On the third hand, I could make it so that "N says" would always verify the quote with javascript.

It's kind of an arms race technically.

Maybe there's some obvious solution I'm not considering?

yeah, Investing in Bitcoin is probably the best thing one can do in life in order to generate generational wealth. Wookie is right on that.

Another flag option maybe? This guy is rampant with it. It crops up occasionally with some new people (he's been here a while), but I think most everyone that's been here a while respects the quote feature.

I don't know the tech/coding to stop it from happening. So I have no solution there. It's just giving trolls a way to troll though unfortunately. Like I said, it's fine 99.9% of the time. But there's always one that comes along. Not a huge flaw, just annoying when it rears its ugly head.

Another thought, remove the edit feature? The only time is if a comment gets flagged and you're allowed to fix or update the comment. That way if a manipulated quote is posted, it's set in stone. Because sometimes you call them out and they'll go back and edit it back to the original quote.

Again, not a major site issue as most everyone here is an adult and can have a conversation even if they disagree.

Call people out for their bullshit! We can ignore, and you, Patrick, can ban. IT IS WRONG to misquote. It should be a rule.

@G36 you should admit it was wrong and promise not to do it again.

You can't program a way to stop cheaters. I've tried.

G has occasionally has some good points on non crypto threads and he's fun to troll so I won't ignore him.

I have a better solution how about stay the fuck away from where your not welcome?... Did the fact this is another persons posting get lost in all the bull shit..
Change the fucking channel and stay away and letting someone troll the fuck out of someone else's post and collaborating with the real troll is in
fucking insane... I challenge you to show me 1 posting that isn't full on trolling or irrelevant. Good luck

True. And many of us have "FIFY" somebody's quote. Fun is fun.

It's over the line when you quote someone, and edit what they say to mischaracterize them.

Some of us have spent a lot of time developing our characters.

It's the internet dude. WTF are you talking about? You can leave too. People have asked you questions to explain the crypto infatuation and you and others are yet to come up with logical responses. Just a link to some fly by night website pumping what you're invested in. No intelligent response. Just "you don't get it" or "blockchain" type responses.

Good point.

OK, it's now a rule and I'll add it to https://patrick.net/post/1277846/2015-02-09-about (the about link at the bottom of every page).

Rule is, if you misquote, and someone points it out, I'll delete your comment. And if you keep doing it, then every one of your comments has to go through moderation.

If you see a misquote, please flag it. It would also help to email me that it's a misquote so I know why it's flagged. Maybe I can come up with a better flagging system sometime this week. I have the week off.

Indredible ! I agree with @WookieMan....If you cant beat them join them. Thats why so many major firms join the crypto train!

Not looking for agreement. I like this site for discussion and some humorous, witty type stuff from users that seem like cool people. We haven't remotely come close to a discussion about bitcoin. I don't know when that day will come, but until then I'll just continue to play the silly game you like of avoiding the reality of what you "invest" in.

I've also been up $3k playing roulette in Vegas starting with $300. They fed me beer and I ended up at $400 to break even after tipping the servers and dealers. Had a blast with my buddies and didn't care.

You're in the 10 beer phase and I don't think you know it. I don't care if you take the advice. Just make sure you don't lose it all. It will happen quick when the bottom drops out.
