Except it's not; it's a figment of the wingnut imagination. No one is being reprimanded for saying Merry Christmas, nor are they going to jail for saying it.
You guys will swallow the most ridiculous fantasies hook, line, and sinker.
I know you could get a complaint against you at my workplace if you say it to the particularly wrong asshole.
I imagine Ribas might be like that.
If there isn't a guy dressed as Santa on every corner yelling "Merry Christmas" at the top of his lungs 24/7, then we're at war with Christianity.
That notion qualifies you to host a AM radio mic-bully show.

I've yet to have one complaint filed against me in 20 years for saying Merry Christmas.
Here's a test for your Patrick. Why don't you go around alternating between Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Ramadan and see which one gets a complaint first. (I know it's not Ramadan season)

Saying Merry Christmas is definitely illegal in fact if not in law yet.
IF this is true (a big IF), it has nothing to do with the government or who's president. It's funny; cons/repugs believe that corporations should be able to do whatever they want without restriction, and yet here they don't want to follow their company's rules. I believe the standard con response is, "If you don't like it there, get another job".

It's a war of slippery slopes. The left claims that Merry Christmas is a step towards a Christian theocracy, which is obviously nuts because people said Merry Christmas for close to two centuries here without any theocracy before the saying became effectively outlawed.
I say Merry Christmas, always have without thinking about it.
Funny thing is you don't have to say "Happy Holidays" around Labor Day/Eid al-Adha.
The whole Happy Holidays is one more aspect of word policing.

Exactly. This whole thread is full of statements that the wingnuts "know" to be true, yet they can't back any of it up with empirical data.

Or perhaps it is a way for people to greet someone, even if they're not sure that they are Christian. I know I can't always tell if someone is Jewish at first glance--Happy Holidays covers Hanukah and Christmas.
The hilarious thing about this "War on Christmas" though is that it's not the left or liberals who are waging it. It's corporations that are doing it because they want to appeal to the widest audience possible. So Republicans created this monster themselves. Not sure how Trump is going to be able to force Starbucks to say Merry Christmas.

I work in a business around people who are either Jewish or Christian-descent (meaning, culturally and ethnically, if not actually regliously). I can say Merry Christmas to whoever I want, but the Jewish guys might snicker and think I'm a shmendrik. The *liberal* Jews, anyway, have a hell of a sense of humor and don't take offense to much as far as I can tell. We have a few snowflakes in the office, but they all are quite fine with the idea of Christmas (free shit! lazy time at work! lots of days off!).

VA Hospital did ban Christmas Trees in Public Areas:
UPDATE: A letter from the Salem VA Medical Center to all employees stating Christmas trees will not be allowed in public areas this holiday season ignites a debate. But, after a heated meeting Friday afternoon — management is going to deck the halls and light the tree after all.Christmas trees have always been a part of Christmas at the Salem VA Medical Center.
For veteran Vicki Jackson, the tree symbolizes overcoming a hard time in her life. “It brought me over a big hump, because Christmas is hard for me, it’s real hard for something that happened years ago,†said Jackson. “And, to see that tree gone it’s not Christmas.â€
It’s not just Jackson; it’s a message that provoked Salem VAMC employees, veterans and others in the community. And, after a closed meeting between management and up to 150 staff members; now, a tree will stand tall this holiday season at the Salem VAMC. “It was very tense in there with the director and amongst the employees,†said Jckson. “I wasn’t supposed to be there, but I went anyhow.â€
In a statement the Salem VAMC public affairs officer said, “it was determined that Christmas trees could be displayed in public areas so long as they were accompanied by the respective symbols of the two other faiths that celebrate holidays during this holiday season – namely symbols commemorating Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. The decision comes after a letter from the Salem VAMC to employees which read, “trees have been deemed to promote the Christian religion and will not be permitted in any public areas this year.â€

Yes. Christmas is an official federal holiday, and it's not called "One of the Happy Holidays"
I hope no federal official, or city/state insititution wishes "Good Eid" or "Happy Ramadan" - that would be the ultimate in hypocrisy if a state/city/PS celebrated a Muslim Holiday by name but wants a euphemism for Christmas & Hannukah & NY combined.

Back in the 50s and 60s Edward Cayce predicted a prediction that I cannot find anywhere or mention of on the Internet.
He predicted way back when the queen of england had not really been on the thorn terribly long, it was like this....
"Finally there will be a King on the throne of England, and he will be the last !"
Has anyone heard any mention or remember this, that is if you even remember who Edward Cayce was. I would think that those who know about this are trying to keep the old goat alive long enough to outlive Charles, so that a much younger King, his son, will take over and give the monarchy a bit more time to survive.

I don't know whether Trump will win the election or not. I think he has a better chance than polls predict, because the majority of Americans have been strongly conditioned not to speak their actual views through decades of threats of job loss or expulsion from school, and this probably carries over when speaking with pollsters.
If Hillary wins, I predict that Trump's movement against establishment politicians will continue to grow, because the conditions which gave rise to Trump will continue. Hillary will continue to aggressively export US jobs, import foreign labor to depress wages, restrict free speech, attack traditional values, and start additional wars around the world. That would make the next election unfortunately even more interesting.
If Trump wins (very much like the Brexit), the dollar will drop, and therefore US exports will surge. There will be tariffs against China, and US manufacturing will in fact revive. Some form of the wall with Mexico will be built, and millions of illegals will leave or be deported (so the cost of vegetables, maids, and construction work will go up). People will feel free to support traditional values like clear gender roles and heterosexual marriage, and the declining marriage rate will reverse and start rising again. We will withdraw militarily from many countries. Iran will invade and take over Saudi Arabia's mostly-Shiite oil fields, and Saudi Arabia will plunge into civil war, raising the price of oil. Oil production in the US and other countries will go up to compensate and oil prices will fall again. Overall US prosperity will increase for the masses, while the super-wealthy find their wealth stagnating because they depended so much on Hillary's policies. So the gap between rich and poor will decline.
