Agree, there is nothing left for the GOP in 20 years, unless they radically change.

However, Liberals need to be aware that immigration is at 1920, all time high levels, in a weak job market with high rents, and that there are plenty of unemployed blacks and rural whites that need to be employed also. Not to mention the oversized military and the school-to-prison complex which, if ended, would also result in a greatly expanded labor supply.

We would also need to end the corn dumping and drug wars that have made life unbearable in Central America.

I'm opposed to our current high levels of immigration because it creates a large reserve army of labor that depresses wages. Wages build up, not trickle down, so without upward wage pressure for the unskilled, it's likely that workers will continue to be underpaid and overworked.

I agree it's a concern, but what do you think about, for example, the idea that there is a tremendous new glut of labor and money from China and India that have come online like never before. (I picked up the "Age of Oversupply" recently. Seems to be a decent book).

Is it really immigrants that we need to be concerned with? Witness Hazelton: immigrants left town and with them departed a big chunk of their elderly economy.

Documented and undocumented immigrants to America consume in America. They are often youthful, and pay into Social Security and Medicare, etc. Undocumenteds sell food at food trucks to undocumenteds who work at the construction site. Remove them and you may remove the only economic activity in town!

And the best thing is, when they are no longer needed, they simply self-deport! :)

I disagree, because I think you are not being fair to both sides.

I don't think the tax system is fair, and I don't know a single person who thinks that it is. Poor will always want more handouts, and everyone else will always want to pay less in taxes. Romney paying a lower rate than I while complaining about his high taxes is just as bullshit as a renter not paying property taxes while complaining about prop 13. It is what it is.

And it's no secret that politicians are beholden to special interests. And the only special interest that has no voice is the middle class. But I don't think there is much difference between Republicans and Democrats. At the end they all want to take something from us, and the only day they stop taking from us is when we are all dead and no longer care.

B is better because its that kind of attitude, rhetoric, and ideaology that cost them the election both in 08' and 12'.
