The American Thinker thinks that if Ron DeSantis bows out now, he can salvage his electability in 2028 or other future elections.

Hey not so fast Buckaroo, DeSantis is stained for a myriad of reasons, not because he's on the challenging side of Donald Trump "NOW".
But because he was the first one to agitate Trump challengers in the first place, he colluded with the whole never Trumper field, he has failed the State of Florida as a second Term Governor. The Legislature is doing all of the work he's just signing bills, if he's in town.
I'm convinced that he has done nothing to secure the next Florida Republican Governor. He's built no coalitions in the Blue Counties and Cities in Florida to flip them Red. He's done nothing to promote a suitable replacement. So either he's going to leave the Governor seat wide open to Andrew Gilliam or he's mum on any potential Republican 2026 contenders. Because he already knows they'll be RINO as Fuck, and that alone would galvanize the MAGA base to start a grassroots to field a MAGA challenger.

Which the MAGA base should be doing anyway, but they don't want to step on Ron's dick, I suppose.

Doubt it. He did every wrong thing possible running against Trump. He also lacks wit. He over thinks things when talked to in real time. His shoes were the nail in the coffin for him ever going any further, he should have just nipped getting clowned on in the bud but instead made it worse.

I wonder if he'll sue his custom boot maker for failing to make his pumps concealed in boots unnoticeable?
