By reducing 2/3rds requirement to 1/2. What idiots who vote for this don't understand is that higher taxes = higher rent and higher cost of living for everyone. While government sits on their asses collects 6 or 7 figure pensions accomplishing nothing. This is likely an attempt to line union pockets again.

The California Legislature is back in session. That means more chances for them to raise your taxes. As early as tomorrow the California State Assembly could vote on ACA 1 which would make it easier to raise property tax bills by lowering the current two-thirds vote threshold to approve local property taxes. This is a direct attack on Prop 13, California’s landmark taxpayer protection law. WE HAVE TO STOP THIS.

ACA 1 – is not only a direct attack on Proposition 13, it also goes against the will of the people. Time and time again, Californians have overwhelmingly voted against measures to decrease the vote threshold for property taxes.

California’s economy is booming, leading to record reserves. With the state experiencing increased revenue, and local governments receiving increased revenue from the traditional property tax, now is not the time to make it easier to raise taxes or raise taxes!

Thier bullshit is never ending, but with all thier dumbed down constituents anything is possible. It's basicly illegals, free shit, and government unions allowing this shit, while the rest of us get fucked or move.

People should also note: There is no amount of tax revenue that will satiate the California state government. None.

The only tax increase I'd vote for is a 50% tax on state pensions of amounts over $75k/year. i.e.: a clawback

The Slouching Beast Hungers! Fewer middle class and upper middle class voters to feed on to pay off the invading hordes of tin roof third world voters with beads.

Make it 90% and I'm with you.

Why don't that just quadruple everyone's water bill instead, like Baltimore City did. That way it's not a "tax increase"???

California is OK if you are 1. rich 2. poor/illegal 3. foreign "guest" worker H1B visa

Middle class Americans are pretty much fucked in California.

I was with my friend who sells expensive houses around Santa Cruz; we were talking about the subject at lunch.

She has people who want to sell and move away; others want to settle down and submit to the tax traps.

If you sell a house in California there are: 1. Federal capital gains tax 2. Federal Obama care tax (3.8%) 3. California capital gains tax 4. unique California real estate capital gains tax. California wants one last chance to fuck you over if you decide to leave by selling out.

What if you want to buy and stay? You will be on the tax hamster wheel.

Buy a house for $700,000; property taxes are about $8,000. How did you pay for it? Income from work which is taxed in California 9+% What if you buy some shit to improve it over at Home Depot? Sales tax here is 9.25%

What amazes me is how people will submit to the torture but often it's so the female partner is happy and feels secure.
