Public school dress codes are degrading. This is no mean feat, given how low the standards already are. As good example of the trend comes from the Austin Independent School District (AISD) in Texas.

This district has a little over 81,000 students, of whom 27 percent are white. Its current dress code was challenge in a petition supposedly crafted by a group of parents. It reads in part:

The current district dress code does not uphold the AISD values of equity, diversity, and inclusion. It contains vague language, arbitrary restrictions, and emphasizes bans on clothing that are primarily worn by females and minorities. It also allows for individual schools to create additional restrictions, which leads to further inequality across our district.

This petition touched all the hot-button issues and basically claims that the current dress code is racist and sexist and does not uphold "diversity." Faced with such charges, what could a progressive school district do but capitulate? A new dress code was formulated. Here's how one Austin TV station describes what's coming.

Under the new proposed dress code, students would be allowed to wear hats, sweatshirts with hood up, athletic gear and even pajamas. Specifically for girls, spaghetti straps, tank tops, halter top and shorts of any length, as long as their buttocks are covered, would be permitted. The draft says bra straps and underwear waistbands could also show under the new rules. ...

Austin is not alone. USA Today ran a story entitled "California school's no-shame dress code empowers students to wear what they want" about the dress code at the Alameda Unified School District in the Bay area. As a concession to the handful of conservatives who might reside in the Bay Area, the district's dress code mandates "clothing that covers genitals, buttocks and areolae/nipples with opaque material."

It has been said that civilizations collapse with not a bang, but a whimper. That is, the decay leading to collapse is incremental. It happens step by step over time — much like termites eating away at the structure of a house. This is the path America's K–12 public education system has been on for over a generation. When the public schools across the country aren't indoctrinating their students in multiculturalism and teaching a negative view of America, they are feeding them academic mush. All on the taxpayer's dime.

Austin is going to shit. I just saw on TV that they passed a law allowing the homeless to camp out in parks, just like California.

I live in the 2nd poorest country in South America. There is a national uniform, Polo Shirt and Pants and Black Sneakers for boys, Dresses for Girls. They are sold at every corner and grocery for a few bucks a piece.

Having a school uniform actually would LOWER costs for kids clothes.

Always thought uniforms would take a lot of stress off kids.

I used to teach at a now defunct programming school in SF. We had a strict dress code. I liked it because it was real easy to see the troublemakers.

Uniforms are good in an educational environment.

That's a good point I had not considered. Kids compete on status all the time. Harder to make anyone feel bad about their clothes if you are all wearing the same clothes.

I've heard from folks in Texas that Austin is turning into mini California, not in a good way.

Funny how liberals call everything "racist / sexist" the moment they don't like it. I think they seen that tactic work too many times, so why try something new. Got caught in a crime -> call cops racist -> white people start apologizing -> you get away with crime.

I remember seeing school uniforms in England in the 90s. Girls wore loose, baggy, low crotch pants that were flattering on no one. Not just no status, but no body distraction either.

Yeah that's one main reason, it equalizes between rich and poor at least during school hours - not a bad thing. I prefer letting people picking out what they wear but there should be boundaries for sure. This is ridiculous.

Austin attracts the wimpiest of all Texans, plus tech douches and liberal millennials sure... But theres still too much Texas in the people here to not be optimistic. Talk to any cop, he doesn't give a fuck about that nonsense. Break the law here and you pay.

Work ethic still important and respected here. Also, Texas does not pay Medicaid to able bodied adults, so we don't have the mass handout problem of California.

Bums sleeping in parks and harassing you downtown are a legit issue. Petty theft and violence are a concern , but we don't have murder problems like bigger cities.

Austin still a great place to live.

You live in Austin? Going there for business soon.

I think crazy liberals call everything racist just to see if they can get stupid suckers to cater to their craziness and change it. They feel very empowered. And when whatever institution caters to that, it just makes it a step further and further down the slippery slope.

One of the reasons leftists hate Trump, he didn't cater like a doormat to their idiocy, he just told them to fuck off. They still cry river how life is unfair because reality doesn't cater to their retardation.
14   NuttBoxer   2019 Jul 19, 11:03am

I heard Epstein wrote the new dress code requirements.

In mean time in Africa, all black country, look at this "racism" and "white supremacy" uniforms lol. Those blacks are so racist against themselves.

Let's be honest, only reason they want to get rid of uniforms, is so that fags and trannies can dress in "sexuality" while screaming crazy shit at the others.

?? For girls, a mattress with back straps?

Would it be too much for the schools to teach: If you dress like people in certain groups that commit an outsized number of crimes you will probably be treated as a person likely to commit an outsized number of crimes?

I'm reminded of one of my favorite memes: Pants up; don't loot!

The only reasonable, safe school uniform is to mandate students come to school nude carrying nothing but books and M134.

schools are are book free zone, because books are a sign of white supremacy. Didn't you read usatoday? Clearly a non starter.
