I have found recently that when a site doesn't work correctly (for example this one) it's usually because I have all Google domains blocked with Little Snitch (an absolutely wonderful piece of software btw, one of the few things I actually purchased and installed on my laptop).

So then I unblock the domain with Little Snitch, and yet, no matter which laptop I'm on, at home or at work, I find myself routed into a never-ending loop of doing free work for Google, identifying all the images with bicycles, or streetlights, or whatever, as part of their awful Captcha. It just never lets me past, keeps showing more images.

But it's just me. My wife, from the same home IP addr, does not even get prompted by the Google Captcha.

Starting to think that it's personal, and Google is effectively blocking access to literally thousands of sites to certain politically incorrect people like myself.
