I have an increasing sense of foreboding.

Expansions don't die of old age! I hear.
Except this can only go down so far:

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean people aren't out to get you. But from where I sit, the economy is humming along.

I think a lot of Industries are about to stumble and fall head first with their hands behind their back into a Rock Garden.

It wont have anything to do with the economy, or any economic indicator. This will be real pain brought upon themselves. So many industries, verticals and companies all took a Gambit to be SJW Virtue signalers and saw fit to disregard a full half of the population. As more revelations come clear, and more people realize they have been brainwashed and lied to for the last 3 years on a lot of things, will abandon those companies.

There is pain coming for many of those companies and institutions. They made do with 50% of the population because they just made those that stuck with them pay more for less. When they're down to 25% or less they wont be able to squeeze those people and make up lost profits.

Here's the punchline:
And the IRS did change the tables that govern how much is withheld in taxes from people's paychecks throughout the year. While that process -- the subject of a Government Accountability Office investigation -- was shown to be opaque, it did result in Americans getting a paycheck bump in March of 2018. But many may not have noticed, since the tax cut was spread out over the year instead of handed out as a lump sum.
Don't panic... yet.
