No shit. Chiromancy is bullshit.

Chiropractic is for lower back pain and that's it. It's an extension of an area known as physical therapy.

I had 2 surgeons tell me I needed surgery for a blown out disc in my neck (c4-c5). A chiropractor, after looking at the MRI, said he could fix me. After 2 months of 2 times a week treatments, my neck is fine. This was 12 years ago when I was 40.

I couldn't be happier.

It's a 50/50 that a Chiropractor can fix your back and or neck. On the downside of that 50/50 is paralysis and even death.
The upper 50/50 feel anywhere from some to total relief from their back and neck pain.

Instead of politicizing it by the medical community, because they are taking their chronic Pain med customers from the pharma industry.
Perhaps they should learn to identify those that would benefit vs those that a spinal adjustment might maim or kill.

I've had good luck with back pain, my wife benefited from it when she was going through her medical problems back in 2012.

Over the New Year holiday I fell head first, knocked me out cold for a few minutes. When I came to my friends was yelling my name. I yelled back get off of me!
I was lying on my stomach with my arms by my side and was 100% paralyzed. Then starting from my neck to shoulders and arms to back my muscles started coming back on line. It took me over 30 minutes to sit up, and about 50 minutes to get up. I feel my C1 and C2 out of whack and pinching nerves in my hands. This pain I would never take to a Chiropractor. I'm doing exercises to strengthen my neck muscles so it relieves the pressure on the nerves it is pinching.
I'm back to about 95% getting better every day. For about three weeks there I was really taking it easy worried I had a head injury.

When I was on floor I felt like Robo Cop rebooting.

Sounds scary indeed. Everyone I've ever spoken to about disc surgery has had to go back for a second surgery because the fusion made another disc blow out. Neck and/or lower back. My cousin just had neck surgery and after 1 year, says he is back to about 70%.

I am back to 98% after chiropractic care.

Everyone must act as their own #1 health advocate. Drs., just like every other professional, are going to have their own bias. Surgeons don't make $$ on people who forego surgery, ya know.

Western medicine is simply cut or pill popping.

Sorry to take over this topic but another story...

I had a podiatrist tell me I needed foot surgery. Bullshit. I went to a shoe store that looked like it was 100 years old because it had a sign with the words "plantar fasciitis" on the front of the store. A shoe salesman who looked 100 years old sold me a pair of shoes for $150. He cut two arch supports out of foam with some scissors and put them in the shoes. 3 weeks later, no more foot pain.

@WineHorror1: You're lucky! You would have healed on your own without the chiro. They simply snap ligaments against nerves which numbs them temporarily. You're also right about Western medicine with regard to backs. Human backs are evolutionarily screwed. Nobody would engineer a back that way if they were starting from scratch.

I have some chiro friends. It's a great career if say, want a cigarette boat to play with in SF bay or want an ocean front condo in Maui.

Not so sure about the disc healing itself. I had pain for about 3 months before I decided to have it checked out. What I am sure of is the surgeon wanted mo $$ mo $$.

It has the highest rate of student loan defaults of any occupational category. The Tuition is the same as a medical school but it pays the same as a medical assistant only without benefits. Worse than a dead end career.

If a doctor ever wants to slice you open for pain, don't do so unless you go to a physical therapist first. I've had issues with my back, knees, feet. Plantar fasciitis. Achilles tendonitis. Hip bursitis. On and off again pain for 10 years. Physical therapy and a good exercise routine (DDP Yoga) has got me nearly pain free as I approach 40. Plenty of doctors were proposing surgery to me along the way.

Putting bones back in place doesn’t fix diabetes. Everyone with a brain knows that

Can’t you say the same thing about becoming an MD? Just takes more time and study.
