“They’re always hanging around our classrooms and sending us targeted messages online—they sometimes even offer us money if we’re into their sort of thing. It’s so desperate,” said 13-year-old Tessa Levin, recounting the several times she and her friends had been approached by the type of much older chemical engineers or web developers who frequent science fairs with the hopes of involving girls in non-profit mentorship programs or computer programming sleepaway camps. ...

They’re clearly trying to groom girls for their weird lifestyle from a young age. At first it was kind of funny, but the more we learn, the more it just seems gross.” The poll also revealed that some scientists also seem to have a thing for young black and latino boys.

To be real, liberals went overboard with diversity dogma. To a point that they diversify everything just for the sake of diversity. They don’t even question why anything anymore.

Total dumbasses.

The libs are always trying to get girls into coding. Why? Do these girls realize what they are getting into. Old legacy code, database concepts, understanding the hardware involved, operating systems. Then having to support the applications 24x7 on-call.

A lot of these girls are not going to make it.

(Gasps loudly) What a coincidence Old ass Scientists are freaked out by SJW Lesbian hags always tying to MeToo them.

Yeah, it's going to be tough for them because their brains are smaller and they're naturally stupider. They should spend their time cleaning the house and cooking for the men who actually do real work.

I have four daughters and I'm going to make sure they avoid getting into coding, based on the sound advice and reasoning from the wise men on this forum.

I teach AP Physics. The girl's capable of succeeding in this field are just as good as the boys. In fact, the best students in the class are a 50/50 split between girls and boys. That being said, while 20% of the boys may be interested in actually majoring in Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering, maybe 3% of the girls are as well. And the ones that do, do awesome. The ones that choose not to are just not interested in pursuing that type of career.

My wife is a Chemist. My son and daughter will probably be science driven as well. But there is a whole gigantic movement to move less qualified girls into the field and it happens left and right. Most of the ones that are qualified would much rather do something else like business or marketing. Those that do pursue science are more likely to go the bio route. I had a girl as a student, she was arguable the top Physics student in the state. She went Mech E/Aeropspace at Princeton. In her junior year, she switched to bio.

I sure you realize this is a joke article making fun of "#me too" issue as a general excuse. "I can't get into science because of the "Harvey Weinstein" acting old guys!"

It is like the joke about the frail old scientist walking into the auditorium full of young studs and calling them "nancy boys" because none have the guts to enroll in his Advanced Astrophysics course. The studs can't even look the professor in the eyes and cower into corners as he approaches. Pussies.

I work in the Silicon Valley.

Some diversity initiatives are good. The level I see pushed on employees here is totally over the top.

Physics degrees are where it's at, man, if I had a do-over I would've gotten a degree in physics (BS Chem + math minor instead). Not only is it a ticket to ride into a metric fuckton of grad program options, including engineering and MD/PhD programs, but finance rolls out the red carpet for physics majors. My roomie in college went physics, had a crappy GPA and still ended up at Cornell grad. Another one of his classmates had a shit GPA and still got into UCSD MD/PhD, and yet another one makes seven figures at some i-bank these days.

Actually, from a scientist perspective, the funniest part is "They always try to treat us like we’re special, but the truth is, they’ll go after pretty much any girl under 18 who can draw a simple parallel circuit diagram.", because it's true. You can take an asian kid who can come in 1st place in every Math and Science competition he's ever entered and the universities will casually ignore him. Meanwhile, a girl that can solve an Ohm's Law problem is immediately admitted to a PhD program at Harvard or MIT. I actually know two girls who went through my lab. One went to MIT and got her PhD in Biophysical Chemistry. She has not taken a single engineering class in her life and now runs around at various "engineer" positions at universities and companies. She's never really done much but is paid handsomely. Nice girl, but her salary and positions were never justified by her work.

I know another that went to Harvard, got her PhD in Physics. Again, not much science done, and she hasn't published anything. However, she was immediately thrust into some high level DC women in science liaison position. Never really could figure out what she actually does. Again, very nice girl, but I'm baffled as to what she's done.

The real women in science who actually do lab work and hang out with the guys despise these types.

They're good at streamline testing dildos and strap-ons in wind tunnel simulations.
