Going to get an idea of what financing would look like for an RV this weekend. Thinking that may provide the best solution for continuing to live out here till the rents drop.

California has a lot of poor because 1. poor are coming to California from other countries 2.govt. gives incentives for the poor to a. produce more poor children b. stay poor.

Was there such a housing crisis in 1982 when the population was 10 million fewer people?

If we got rid of a few million illegals, everyone would have a place to live.

Government handouts and Importing illegals, take those two away and a lot of issues would go away including housing, poverty, failing schools and hospitals, crime.

And wages for the poorest US citizens would rise, like they did at the Little Debbie factory in Chicago after ICE deported most of the workers:

In 2015, under the Obama administration, ICE inspected the documentation of Labor Network’s employees at Cloverhill. In May 2017, the Trump administration sent letters to about 800 employees, saying they weren’t authorized to work in the United States, records examined by the Chicago Sun-Times show.

Those Hispanic employees didn’t return to work, leaving the bakery desperate to fill their jobs. So the company turned to another placement agency, Metro Staff Inc., and it provided Cloverhill with workers screened through the government’s “E-Verification” program. Most of those new employees are African American.

According to a former consultant to the bakery, MSI paid the black workers $14 an hour, versus the $10 an hour the Mexican workers were making through Labor Network.

An extra $4/hour may not seem like much to you, but it's huge when you're living in poverty.

"Housing is main cause of poverty in CA"

Why didn't they think of this before. Destroy all housing and you get rid of poverty. It will also solve the homeless 'problem' because everybody will be on an equal footing.

You see, The Great Socialist Paradise really works!

There is no reason why people cannot live in grass huts. You can build one in a day for $10 bucks. Our ancestors lived in trees, caves, and grass huts. Millions of people still do. Why can't we?

Yup, I totally agree. The problem is those evil capitalists have so much luxury from hard work, innovation, and entrepreneurship, that every socialist now wants the same. They just want it without earning it, just because they went through the hassles of being born.

The government doesn't incentivize poor people to have children. Biological drive does that.

Great, take away welfare and AFDC and see how many Ghetto Queens get knocked up after that.

That will be the year they magically discover Condoms.

Now these dumb-fuck legislators are pushing a new "rent-relief" act. See what I received yesterday:

"Rent Relief For Californians

Friend,

With the cost of housing continuing to rise in California and across the country, Senator Harris introduced legislation on Wednesday that would provide rent relief for Americans struggling to make ends meet. The Rent Relief Act would create a new, refundable tax credit to put more money in the pockets of families at a time when renters’ wages have remained stagnant and housing costs have increased rapidly.

The middle class is shrinking, and the tax system seems to help more people at the top than at the bottom of the income scale. For the last generation, most Americans haven’t seen their wages rise, but their bills are going up every month, and the costs of housing, healthcare and childcare are pushing more and more families out of the middle class.

“America’s affordable housing crisis has left too many families behind who struggle each month to keep a roof over their head,” said Senator Harris. “This bill will ensure no family is priced out of the basic security of a place to live. Bolstering the economic security of working families would strengthen our country and increase opportunity.”

Under Senator Harris’ Rent Relief Act , the refundable tax credit will be available to:

individuals who live in rental housing and pay more than 30% of their gross income for the taxable year on their rent including utilities.
individuals who live in government-subsidized rental housing, who could claim the value of one month’s rent as a refundable tax credit. Subsidized rent is normally capped at 30% of a person’s income, making them eligible for the tax benefit for rent-burdened residents.

The Rent Relief Act would give much-needed relief to Californians! For a list of supportive statements, click here .

It’s time to stand up for what is right and ensure that we provide real relief for millions.

Thanks,
Yasmin

Yasmin Rigney
Legislative Assistant
U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris "

Yasmin, let me be clear, if you are part of the machine pushing this garbage you are quite far from being my "friend." Sending me an email update of what your Boss is doing from a donotreply email address with no clear method for me to comment/respond as a constituent of her's is ridiculous. All this bill will be doing is allowing individuals to remain living in situations that they cannot afford and should not have placed themselves in / should not remain in.

Stop illegal immigration.

Kamala Harris? It's wonderful legislation, though they should entitle it "Parasite Enablement Act" rather than "Rent Relief Act".
