Illegal immigrant, 41, 'raped and impregnated a special needs girl, 13, who has the "intellect of a first grader" and can't speak'

Reynaldo Mora, 41, of Bethesda, is accused of raping and impregnating a 13-year-old teenager who communicates nonverbally in her home while babysitting

Mora was asked to watch the teen and her two siblings at their home in February, which is when he is accused of assaulting her in a bedroom, authorities said

The teenager who has the 'intellect of a first grader' communicated through 'gestures and writing' that Mora was the father of the unborn child, police said

Mora is currently charged with sex abuse of a minor and two counts of second-degree rape, in addition to federal proceedings he faces for immigration status

Mora's attorney has said his client is innocent and a paternity test will prove it

If convicted, Mora faces up to 60 years in prison for the county charges

Mora was set to be released on bond, but was turned over to ICE instead

The status of his immigration proceedings is not known at this time

Rape in Mexico is 1. rampant 2. rarely prosecuted 3. has low penalties compared to the USA.

I have lived and worked in Mexico, I'm bilingual and I know several females who were sexually abused. I thought it was odd that while I may have met one or two American females like this in my life, in Mexico it a much higher proportion of the females I know had this experience.

In Mexico it's common to blame the victim. If a female goes to a man's house/apartment/hotel and is raped, the attitude is "what did she expect?" The common view in Mexico is that men are unable to control themselves and what can you do about it?

Incidentally, this free and guiltless attitude is what seems to make Mexico a lot of fun for tourists. Americans feel free down there, you'll see American men doing things they'd not do at home.

One state was famous for having a higher penalty for cattle rustling than for rape. This was changed a few years ago.

The Mexicans in the USA illegally are surely frustrated and horny, I know several of them. They are young guys who come up here and finally have some spending cash. The problem; many fewer Mexican females come across the border than males. The average illegal guy up here isn't getting much play from the American girls.

Keep in mind that while illegals supposedly commit fewer crimes than legal residents, the number of crimes committed by illegals should be zero...they shouldn’t be here at all.

We wouldn't have to build any fence if trump would prosecute employers. Not a peep from trump or the right wing about that. Strange omission for people who claim to be so passionate about getting illegals out of the country. Almost like they really don't want illegals to go, they just want the sheeple to believe they are trying to get rid of illegals. Say it ain't so joe.

How, exactly is it, that you know the US Federal Government doesn't prosecute employers who hire illegal aliens?

Having actually known illegals and how they got hired, I would say Bob that you are ignorant when it comes to business owners being prosecuted for hiring illegal aliens.

I would also say that you aren't at all aware of the large amount of SSN's and other identity documents that are stolen and sold to illegal aliens. Documents and SSN's that are used by illegals to get hired.

US is as much bigger than Hungary in every imaginable measure as our border wall needs to be longer than theirs. And we both know the coastline mention is bullshit.

Since you are an expert on the subject and I am ignorant on the subject tell us how many employers and what types of employers went to jail and/or faced substantial fines per year. Go ahead. I'll be waiting. and waiting. and waiting.

i'll save you the trouble of dodging and ducking the question. So far ICE under trump did a raid on a bunch of 7-11's (the result of a 2013 obama era investigation) and charged a whopping 9 people. who were made to pay back wages. I'm sure the CEO's of smithfield and tyson are going to bed every night terrified about this.

Yes: the percentage of drugs and illegals coming through the coastline is negligible. It's infinitely easier to control the sea than it's to control the land.
