It's Going "Parabolic" with these Liberals!!

Michigan Rep. John Conyers, a Democrat and the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives, settled a wrongful dismissal complaint in 2015 with a former employee who alleged she was fired because she would not “succumb to [his] sexual advances.”

Documents from the complaint obtained by BuzzFeed News include four signed affidavits, three of which are notarized, from former staff members who allege that Conyers, the ranking Democrat on the powerful House Judiciary Committee, repeatedly made sexual advances to female staff that included requests for sexual favors, contacting and transporting other women with whom they believed Conyers was having affairs, caressing their hands sexually, and rubbing their legs and backs in public. Four people involved with the case verified the documents are authentic.

And the documents also reveal the secret mechanism by which Congress has kept an unknown number of sexual harassment allegations secret: A grinding, closely held process that left the alleged victim feeling, she told BuzzFeed News, that she had no option other than to stay quiet and accept a settlement offered to her.

“I was basically blackballed. There was nowhere I could go,” she said in a phone interview. BuzzFeed News is withholding the woman’s name at her request, because she said she fears retribution.

Last week the Washington Post reported that the office paid out $17 million for 264 settlements with federal employees over 20 years for various violations, including sexual harassment. The Conyers documents, however, give a glimpse into the inner workings of the Office of Compliance, which has for decades concealed episodes of sexual abuse by powerful political figures

“When you make private settlements, it doesn’t warn the next woman or the next person going into that situation.”

Would that really be a bad thing?

Twitter took it off the trending page when Conyers got to 50,000 mentions.

A big "They Eat Their Own" in progress. Hollywood, now Franken and Conyers.

Democrats Call For Ethics Investigation Into John Conyers .

Despite one anonymous staffer's claim that Conyers is "untouchable" because of his longstanding status as a civil-rights icon who marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., senior Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are calling for an ethics probe into the Dean of the House following a report revealed that staffers have accused the senior lawmaker of sexual harassment.

Reps. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), the second and third most-senior Democrats on the powerful committee said early that the House Ethics Committee should investigate the validity of the BuzzFeed News report published late Monday night.

"The reports about Congressman Conyers are as serious as they get. The Committee on Ethics should take up this matter immediately with a goal of promptly assessing the validity of the news account. This reported behavior cannot be tolerated in the House of Representatives or anywhere else," Lofgren said in a statement Tuesday morning, the Hill.

Nadler issued a statement around the same time calling the allegations against Conyers "extremely serious and deeply troubling."

“Obviously, these allegations must be investigated promptly by the Ethics Committee. There can be no tolerance for behavior that subjects women to the kind of conduct alleged," Nadler said.

Another Woman Accused Conyers Of Sexual Harrassment.

Update: In a lawsuit unearthed by Buzzfeed, a second woman accused Conyers of sexual harassment, but later abandoned efforts to hold him accountable. According to Buzzfeed, a former scheduler for the Democrat said she faced daily harassment from the congressman in a suit she later dropped after a court denied her request to keep it sealed. The behavior described in the suit took place between 2015 and 2016, meaning it happened after Conyers settled with the previous, unnamed, former staffer.

“These behaviors and actions were so common and pervasive that they created a hostile work environment,” she alleged. Unlike the settlement agreement that was published by Buzzfeed earlier Monday, this lawsuit is a public document. BuzzFeed News was not able to reach the woman for comment and also decided against releasing her name.

Pelosi, Why am I not surprised?

WASHINGTON — Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., stepped down as the ranking Democratic member of the House Judiciary Committee on Sunday, following sexual harassment accusations.

The 27-term congressman said he denied the allegations, but was stepping down because of the ongoing House Ethics Committee investigation.

Appearing on "Meet The Press" earlier in the day, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi urged “due process” before making conclusions about Rep. Conyers, saying the congressman is “an icon” who has worked to protect women.

"We are strengthened by due process. Just because someone is accused — and was it one accusation? Is it two?” Pelosi asked.

“John Conyers is an icon in our country. He has done a great deal to protect women - Violence Against Women Act, which the left — right-wing — is now quoting me as praising him for his work on that, and he did great work on that,” she added.

Conyers’ office recently confirmed issuing a settlement of $27,000 to a former staffer who says she was fired for resisting the congressman’s sexual advances.

The accusation is everything.

Proof is irrelevant. Once accused in the press, guilt is simply assumed.

Thank You madam Pelosi. Why do I get the feeling you have seduced lots of men to satisfy your sexual urges?

That is true, but when it comes to alpha male politicians and celebrities, the accusations are generally correct.

Yep, it's usually accurate. Conyers is threatening to bring all his buddies down with him if he gets forced out. Why would he even suggest that if there isn't a wide spread issue going on behind the "curtain"?

The Media's real gripe is that in former days, they could just repeat the accusations across the Board of TV/Newspaper/Radio and then the accusation "became" proof through unopposed repetition.

Now, they aren't used to being questioned, asked for evidence, and especially (my detractors hate this) have some of the accusations compared with other accusations and having the level of evidence examined for all of them. As well as the timing.

What mainstream news outlet has pointed out the accusation came on the very day it was too late to replace Moore with another Candidate? And that McConnell and McCain, who haven't said much about Conyers or Franken, demanded Moore drop out within 15-20 minutes of the story breaking?

Muslim terrorists seem to have more rights than us. They are presumed innocent even if they are guilty.

John Conyers Accuser Wants To Break Confidentiality

The woman who settled a sexual harassment complaint with Democratic Michigan Rep. John Conyers wants to go public and tell her story, despite a confidentiality agreement barring her from doing so.

The woman, a former staffer for Conyers, is asking him to lift the confidentiality agreement she signed as part of a settlement agreement in 2015 after the woman said she was fired for rebuffing Conyers’ sexual advances in 2014. Conyers paid the woman more than $27,000 in taxpayer funds in exchange for her silence.

Conyers has maintained his innocence, even as one of his colleagues called on him to resign. Sworn affidavits signed by four of Conyers’ former staffers describe him as a serial sexual harasser who would prey on his female staffers.

Conyers regularly made sexual advances on female staffers and would ask them for sexual favors, according to the affidavits signed by his former staffers. “Rep. Conyers strongly postulated that the performing of personal service or favors would be looked upon favorably and lead to salary increases or promotions,” one former employee said in an affidavit.

“One of my duties while working for Rep. Conyers was to keep a list of women that I assumed he was having affairs with and call them at his request and, if necessary, have them flown in using Congressional resources,” one affidavit states. Another staffer told BuzzFeed that Conyers, who is the longest-serving congressman, used taxpayer funds to fly women into see him.

Now he's going for the sympathy vote.

Rep. Conyers hospitalized amid sexual misconduct allegations.

Rep. John Conyers, facing accusations of sexual misconduct and a House Ethics Committee probe, has been hospitalized in Detroit, his political consultant said Thursday.

Sam Riddle, the consultant, told WDIV-TV that Conyers, 88, was hospitalized due to stress and he blamed the "media assault" stemming from the allegations against the lawmaker.

"The congressman's health is not what it should be and a lot of that is directly attributable to this media assault," Riddle said, adding that "the reality is these serial accusers have done this before, we're used to it."

So, if he's use to it (SOP) why the need for treatment??? Should be just another day in Paradise!

BUSTED!!!

First this a few days ago:

And now, a few days later (today):

Nancy Pelosi: John Conyers Should Resign.

Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called on Rep. Jon Conyers (D-MI) to resign on Thursday following a host of sexual-misconduct allegations against the senior Democrat. “The allegations against Conyers, we have learned more since Sunday, are serious, disappointing and very credible," Pelosi told reporters this morning. "Congressman Conyers should resign." Pelosi had received flack for her interview in which she called Conyers an "icon," as multiple House members said Conyers should resign.
