Dear Lisa:

Well done and you made a perfect choice. He's a sweet man who minds and is very domesticated. He doesn't bark much. He is nice to people and animals. His past is a mystery that we will never know. One of my most beloved books of all time is Isabel Allende's The House of the Spirits set in Chile. It is a great woman's book with powerful female characters. There is also a mysterious dog with magical powers named Barabbas. Nobody knows where he came from. To this day, I can't read the ending of the book without getting tears in my eyes. The final line in the book is:

"Barabbas came to us by the sea."

Alfred reminds me of Barabbas.

With kindest regards,
-JackW

I miss my pup ☹️

I keep looking at the shelters but not sure I'm ready to jump back in, yet. Nothing wrong with enjoying the time in between without the responsibility.

Good looking pup. I held out until 2/1, but we spoke on this end of 2016 when we were both counting down the days. Rough sledding for a couple months there, mine had Osteosarcoma, so the vet had said he could put him down when he came to check on him around Thanksgiving. I was like oh hell no, this old boy needs a farewell tour (and I couldn't handle it). As time passed, It felt like torture for all of us, but it's super tough decision when he's 100%, aside from the basketball sized lump on his front ankle.

I cremated him, but have buried two other dogs with good friends since. Friggin sucks

That's the toughest decision, to jump back in or not... it's a long term commitment.

Jump back in. Dogs go a long way to relieving stress, and making you happy.

My smart German Shepherd voted for Trump.
