My wife wanted to watch a program called "Resident Alien" on ScyFy. First season was actually funny and good in that old fashioned "My Favorite Martian" "Mork and Mindy" type way, with good characters, plot and writing. It had a few woke glitches but nothing too big to keep it from being entertaining.

Enter the obvious Bolshevik feminist wrecking crew in the third episode of the second season. In one episode, they managed the flatten the characters, inject flatulent feminism with a couple of outboard Hollywood lesbian types, reduce the humor from racy to insipidly potty, and reduce the show into a pale, woke shadow of its previous self. Funny characters became unfunny, and the stupid feminist DEI message became the medium. Even the cimematography got worse.

My wife agreed we will re-visit it later to see if the wreckage continues, or if the wound was fatal, but for now, neither one of us want to watch it for the time being.

A show that managed to be brutally funny (because it didn't take itself seriously and made fun of everybody, including the lesbians) was a Tasmanian show called 'Deadloch', so oddly it can be done.

Graphic novels that the show is based on were better.

I liked the homages to Firefly sprinkled in Season 1, too.
