As a few of you know, I am fiercely independent. I don't view the world in Left vs. Right, but in Keynesianism vs. Fiscal Sanity, especially in regard to foreign policy. Today, Joe Biden summarized the official discontent of the Democratic Party by pointing to Russia as the primary threat to liberalism worldwide:

Within the last two years, the best thing to happen to the Obama Administration regarding the Ukrainian Crisis was of course the Syrian Conflict. That is until disastrous policies in that neighborhood's regard made our foreign policy look even more ridiculous. It certainly emboldened and strengthened Putin's positions in the worldview. Part of the problem was that Obama was a criticism-free zone for much of the Left. The legislative branch's job as a check-and-balance failed. Their silence on critical foreign policy issues demonstrated only hypocrisy and reckless behavior. Not entirely different from the previous administration...just with different media coverage.

While I personally admire John Kerry's tough approach toward establishing a Palestinian State, what I just heard from Biden was not just a fear of the collapse of Liberalism across the globe, but also an admission of guilt for his Administration's failure to even make our opinion's clear as a nation - with regard to the Ukraine, European Central Banks, Syria, Iran, Libia, Saudi Arabia, or even the South China Sea.

The gloves are off now, though, and the criticism machine is about to go into high-gear. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Left trying to blame the economic collapse of the European Union on Russia, somehow. Deutch Bank being all of Putin's fault. They should be careful how they criticize the new administration in regard to all of these foreign issues. Obama's track record looks like the steps of a reluctant pacifist general trying to avoid trouble on his watch at any cost.

The greatest threat to Liberalism are the Gulf States, who finance radical Madrassahs and extremists around the world.

Their control of oil via OPEC allows them to intimidate the myriad of smaller countries into voting them as Human Rights Committee Chair Countries and pass resolutions against their enemies.

Remember they offered to build and staff a bunch of new Wahabi mosques in Germany to 'help' the Syrian refugees?

The real strategic threat overall, via both demographics, economic growth, and a 800-900% increase in military spending over the past decade is China.

T L Lipsovich says

control of oil via OPEC

The main reason OPEC controls oil is because NATO politicians get Petrodollars both directly from the Gulf States and indirectly via the MIC and a web of corporate investments that become conduits for baksheesh. Without the baksheesh, NATO would control most of that oil directly, OPEC would become irrelevant, and the Wahhabi madrassahs would not exist.

"I don't view the world in Left vs. Right, but in Keynesianism vs. Fiscal Sanity"

Not really on topic here, but you brought it up. If it's going to be your core viewpoint, you should at least learn what Keynesianism is first. It doesn't mean "fiscal insanity" as you appear to imply.
