All are liberal, Godless Heathen countries.

And the most dangerous vacation spots on the earth are the most conservative, the most religious, and they are all in the Mid East.
Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, etc.

The 2 most conservative religious countries in the middle east are saudi arabia and uae both of which are totally safe. I spent last summer in the uae and would say it's safer than at least half the countries on the top 10 list.

Active war zones are always dangerous vacation spots no matter where they are. When did Afghanistan and Pakistan get moved from asia to the middle east?

I see you know your geography. Egypt is really in Africa, as are the other horrible countries of Nigeria, Somalia and Sudan.
The closer you are to Saudi Arabia, the greater is the barbarism.

Safe from crime, but not safe from barbarism. Just try having sex with the maid. Hey, the UAE is pretty liberal and safe. We are actually planning a visit to Asia and Dubai next month. The Desert Safaris, worlds tallest building and shopping. I'm really excited. They don't bother Americans.

?

All are western, first world nations.

Most have Christians as their largest religious population.

None have very many Muslims. A few actively refuse immigration by Muslims.

There are horrible countries all over the world. Africa is filled from top to bottom with horrible countries. I met a nurse in australia that fled south africa after she were robbed of everything including her clothes while transporting a patient between floors in the hospital. Read Paul Theroux's Dark Safari or Happy Isles of Oceana for a boots on the ground perspective of lot's of horrible countries. Even better drive from brownsville to costa rica some time. I did it 25 years ago and it's far worse today from what I've heard.

You're doing the middle east and asia in one trip? How very american of you. If it's tuesday this must be brussels. Good on you mate, but not my style of travel. Staying around one place hanging with the locals and expats suits me much better.

If you want shopping dubai will provide you with a serious overdose. Mall of the emerits and dubai mall have something like 2000 stores between them. Every chain I've ever seen anywhere in the world is there and I only went in for the ice rink, aquarium, and indoor skiing not for shopping. The aquarium at dubai mall is world class. There is also the largest and most extensive book store on the planet. Hopefully you get a better view from the burj khalifa than I did. Summertime visibility with 120+ degree heat and 99% humidity is limited to 2-3 miles at best. Never saw a sunset the whole time I was there. About 4:00 the sun simply disappeared into the haze.

Dubai has a zillion things to do, but if you can tear yourself away a long weekend in ras al khaimah would be very enjoyable and a big contrast to dubai. A night or two at the Banyan Tree Al Wadi there would be well worth while also. If you plan to drive be prepared to be lost a lot. Dubai invented the concept of you can't get there from here. Maps, google maps, and GPS can't begin to keep up with the pace of construction. The app I used most on the smart phone was the compass.

Just Dubai in the Mid East for 3 days, and then Asia. I would love to see the Egyptian Pyramids, but its too dangerous.
Actually, your style of travel matches mine. I would prefer to stay with the locals, go by bus and train, mingle with the average folks, and what not. Just seeing what tourists see and what tourists do is not always interesting. I like to absorb the local culture and lifestyle. Sadly, it's not always practical with time. (Besides, you know I'm in prison. I have to get back before they miss me :) )
