Democracy works

I cannot believe that anyone from Harvard could espouse this ideology, yet here he is

promoting the values of religion.

Harvard Professor: 90 seconds you won't regret seeing!*

Clay Christensen on Religious Freedom.

watch out for those Harvard elitists, LOL

Do you understand how stupid you are?

Christensen is certainly no dummy (Rhodes Scholar, "Innovators Dilemma") but he's also a Mormon so there's that.

I thought Fundamentalist Christians hated Mormons as much as Muslims and Atheists, LOL

His thesis is demonstrably opposite to observable reality. For example, the countries with the least crime (e.g. Scandinavia) tend also to be the least religious. Evolutionary biology provides a foundation for morality, but religion hijacks that for destructive purposes, much as the 9/11 religious terrorists hijacked planes and flew them into buildings.

BTW, the Cult of Morons (including Romnesia) say everyone else's religion is abomination. So, lest ye be fooled by his pious tone, if you adhere to a religion other than the Cult of Morons, don't forget he says you're an abomination too.

Can religion be called fiat brainwashing?

I'm pretty sure, that 20,000 years ago the shamans were telling the followers that they were critical to tribal morality. That without good cooperation of the chief and the shaman, bringing order from the gods, that the tribe would disintegrate in moral decay.

Scratch most "civilized" men, and you find the primitive not far underneath the skin.

All he's describing is, that religion is usually subservient to the established civil order. This was true however under monarchism and many other forms of government. He likes to feel smug and superior to the Chinese guy he worked with, but you expect that of a Harvard man.

So democracy works because of religion, which is why the Middle East is a bastion of democracy. And being so religious, there is no need for police at all in the Middle East as it is naturally peaceful there.
