If the Israelis had nipped the settlements in the bud 25 years ago, there would be some hope of the Palestinians living under their own shitty government that was just loathsome and corrupt, but at least not a bunch of assholes like Hamas.
There was actual hope, but then Rabin got shot by a right-wing asshole, and everyone freaked.
Kind of like America, where all issues are decided by those who have totally lost their sense of proportion and scream the loudest.

According to this 60% of Palestinians support suicide bombings (that was 2002). I'm sure it has been rising a lot recently.
How many good gestures would it take to split that in half ? How many generations of improving conditions ? I don't know.

Don't get me wrong. I don't claim to know the solution. But it doesn't feel like recent Isreali aggression is going in the right direction.
They don't get the moral highground for the teenagers.
