I want to go to using the Chrome Notebook exclusively and am think of subscribing to the Microsoft Cloud service.

I was wondering if anyone here uses the service, and if it works well.

Nope, wouldn't touch it.

It's just by association. I have to deal with Azure their VM cloud hosting and it's garbage. They don't even plumb their DNS properly, none of their hosts have PTR records!

Both at home and in the office.

Often smooth; sometimes not so much.

For some reason, Office365 Professional (which allows you to have synched directories between your local machine and the cloud) has a habit of claiming a file has been updated in the cloud just after you open it, and asking if you wish to reload.

Mostly good experiences, but occasionally some hourglass time upon opening an OneNote notebook in the cloud. Have only been unable to access a document once.

All in all, I'd give it a B-. It doesn't impede me often, and when it does, it's a few seconds. Don't try to do anything at the last minute: i.e., make an edit just before a meeting.

Given how critical time is to people, I'm surprised they haven't put more of their considerable resources into making it smoother. If it's cheap (or free), and you are well-organized - not often in a rush to grab a document - you'll be fine. Otherwise, forget it.

My bookkeeper uses dropbox for file storage. It's very inexpensive, but I want server space, have a bunch at GoDaddy, but have found them unreliable lately, with too many bozos on the phone for support questions.

What would be an alternative for shared files for multiple locations?
Thanks

Get a static IP at home, and get a dedicated Desktop computer with either Windows professional or a Server.

I only use Microsoft Bob, but there are clouds outside the window of Bob's house. Will clicking them take me to Microsoft Cloud services?

I have that, but want to share from multiple locations. My Note Book is quicker, and I take it everywhere.

The link has an error message. That's why I was asking about the Microsoft experience. I don't really trust they will be a good resource.
