Hedge funds and private equities typically buy in the sub $250k market. If you want no competition from these big boys, buy above $300k price range.

Wish we could afford that much for a home. Best price would be $200,000 and they are out there, and nice too, but just as the article said, they post and are gone within 48 hours.
