I'd love to believe that roosters and dogs are smart enough to use "self-help" to end these barbaric activities. Unfortunately, I suspect the key to this story is in this sentence, "He died at a local hospital."
Every American should read "How American Healthcare Killed My Father". It is one of surprisingly few expert articles on the subject written by someone who doesn't have a financial stake in the existing system. The author's father died, and rather than buy Homeboy's Ignorital(tm) pills, the author chose to channel his grief into a profound and illuminating study of American healthcare. Your life, or the life of someone you care about, may depend on reading it. Otherwise your perception of reality is almost certainly skewed by the evening news, brought to you by PhRMA (count the ads, you'll notice a clear majority are from drug companies, and half of those are for drugs that you aren't even allowed to buy without an Rx) and its allies.
i had a rooster that stood about 2 and half feet tall. He terrorized our back yard. He once charged me and I picked up a resin lawn chair and he kicked a hole in the seat. He could kick a soccer ball over our back yard 6 ft fence.
Damn! You could very probably rob a bank with a rooster of such mien...or imagine going postal by unleashing a dozen tearass roosters on a place.

Nah - bankers have become adept at deflecting threats of all sorts. Massive fraud or even insolvency? Campaign contributions can clear that up with TARP, ZIRP, and QE. Being robbed by roosters? Chicken feed. Better yet, the roosters can be re-trained to henpeck frugal husbands into borrowing more, "helping homeowners take advantage of today's low rates!" Think outside the cage...
This is the very reason that they need to regulate roosters as lethal weapons. We'll start by registration of every rooster.
Then, we will outlaw roosters with multiple claws...
Imagine what that rooster could have done with an AR15!
