Kind of like a big box, but not a bad neighborhood, except for the constant traffic noice from Embarcadro Road. And the relatively close proximity of East Palo Alto, a very dangerous place.

I'm not sure the previous comment is really about the same property. It's next to the creek and Embarcadero Road is not within earshot. This house is as close to East Palo Alto as all of downtown Palo Alto is. Certainly desirable property, but at quite a price.

You're right. I was thinking it was over at the other end of Guinda Street.
But I'm sure I can still find something negative to say about it. Ah, easy - it's in a well-known flood zone! That whole area by the creek was under water in the 1997 El Nino.

East Palo Alto is too dangerous for me. Too many murders, poor police, poor schools.

hey, I just read on the Obama's web page that 365 Guinda in Palo Alto is GORGEOUS and is in a great neighborhood. The Pres believes you are confusing it with some house on Maple St. in EPA. Barack says he's been to this 'hood himself, and it's definitely NOT in East Palo Alto. In fact, he was there during the infamous 1998 Creek uprising, and there was no water within 1/2 mile of the house - nor were there any tomahawks! Obama wants you to get the facts straight or join the Swift Boat Navy.

It's not like I'm in the market for such a house, but at $930/sqft it's relatively easy to pick apart. Follow that link to the slideshow and look at the kitchen, or the proximity to neighbor windows from the bath. For $3.125M, being able to wave to your neighbors is such a nice perk! So thanks realtor for providing more detail!
I suppose if you must live in Pally, being that close to downtown is a plus. Then again, anyone able to afford this home has many more options for $3M+. Particularly if your job is in SF, where a commute from Marin or Berkeley is relatively easy. As one alternative, I'd say this home on Mill Valley waterfront is superior in every way—location/views, interior, amenities, dock--at $741/sqft. And it's been on the market for 265 days--they might even deal.
