They did this with Clinton too. All of the horror stories that were supposed to happen when these men were elected president, never happened. I have heard the same level of ridiculous statements from the left, with people saying that Romney will outlaw birth control, etc. But the really angry, mean, venom seems to be coming constantly from the right. When does the anger and hate end? If Romney wins, can we try to work on some moderate policies and compromise? Will all of the compromise have to come from the left as the tea party says they will never do any compromising? Really? Never? If the country is so evenly divided then I think we are all going to have to compromise in order to move forward. I like to hunt and I don't think anyone is going to change the law so I can't. I like birth control (and so does my husband) and I don't think anyone will take it away. I pay plenty of taxes and would like to see that money spent wisely. I think people should rely on themselves and family instead of the government more. But when I think of any of these things, I don't get angry . . . My husband and now my daughter both serve in the U.S. Navy and they pledge allegiance to whoever is the current commander in chief. In my husband's 22 years of service, it really doesn't matter what party the president has been from--you still follow orders and do your job. I have come to peace with whoever wins this election. The nastiness of this whole process is going to cripple the next 4 years with more division and gridlock.

There's that sudden realization by poor and working poor whites, and some other whites too, that people of color are now considered equal or have an equal status. Those lower economic class whites have nobody to crap on below when they're crapped on from above. Those people in that group have been the most vocal and vile in reference to Obama, as could be seen with the tea-party rallys. They felt secure knowing that there was always somebody lower than them and they weren't at the bottom. And they don't like that one bit either.
