Wednesday, the billionaire business mogul proved rather less forthcoming when it came to a request for information about himself. Trump announced on Wednesday that he would donate $5m to a charity of Obama's choosing, if the president handed over his "college records and applications, and passport application and records". But when the Guardian contacted Trump's office to ask for Trump's college and passport records, it was accused of "trying to be funny" and the request was deemed to be "stupid".

I know that is what they thought, but honestly Trump is such a unsavory character, really a mere carnival act that I don't think anyone really cared. He built it up like he was going to have some great bomb shell that would change the course of the election and it was like a bag of dog shit on fire on the white house porch which Trump stamped out.

Maybe Trump embezzeled his tuition money. Trump has a BA from U Penn's business school (Wharton). Its actually one of the better business schools in the world. There are many things to dislike about the guy, but there is nothing wrong with his education.

While Trump has often made bad business deals and cleverly found ways to dump the loss on his investors or the banks (and if you think about it, shouldn't that be something a traditional marxist should be cheering?), it's my understanding that his public works projects are notoriously under budget and ahead of time.

Trump went to the Wharton School of Business, one of the most prestigious business schools around. I also think Trump is a narcissist, hence the attention-seeking statements he continuously makes.

The question is not vitriolic, nor is it a conspiracy theory...its a simple question that should yield a simple answer. Shouldn't he just produce the records, get $5 Mil from The Donald, and then go feed a bunch of hungry kids??? If he truely has compassion for the downtrodden he would jump at the chance to help them, wouldn't he?

The same is true about Obama's Selective Service registration card. Obama's book agent published that Obama was born in Kenya. For 16 years (1991 - 2007) this information was used when promoting Obama's books.

Trump is not a dummy, he knows that his money is safe. Obama cannot accept any offer (nether $5M nor $50M) to release his background information. Obama knows he is not eligible for US presidency. Trump's offer exposes Obama as a fraud. If there was nothing to hide Obama could have taken $5M and donate it to poor people. Either he hides something or does not care about poor. Take your pick.

Where is respect for the office of the president? It's disgraceful. I agree with some things Trump says, but he is really being ridiculous with this "dare." I bet Obama's grade weren't that stellar. He admitted to getting B and Cs from Occidental College. I am sure he was a product of affirmative action. I don't know how you get from B and Cs at one college to Columbia and Harvard but whatev.
