Nonsense there's no way eight in ten American kids can read, there's just no way. What with Diabetes in their stupid fat little eyes and all.

How would they know what to order off the drive-thru menu if they couldn't read?

"Hold the pickles
Hold the lettuce
Special orders don't upset us

Riiigght.... kids today couldn't find a public library even with mapping programs on their iPhones...
....six in ten... maybe they just went there to surf porn because they couldn't get access on their home computers because mom and dad were too busy on Facebook and patnet.......

I love how US Americans believe that the connected, social network, Internet phenomenon is Unique to America.
Latin and Asian countries are more connected than we are in the States. They don't have Monopoly communications companies that lock their customers into expensive two year contracts. They can go anywhere with any phone. All they need is a SIMS card and they are good to go with the same phone as they go through boarders. On top of all that, they have cutting edge phones and technology two years before CNN gives us a sneak peak.

Ahh, but those other countries don't get the benefit of having all the .gov agencies monitoring all our communications...
...that's a benefit, right????

Well actually they do get the BENEFIT of having .gov agencies not only monitor but censor the crap that erodes their societies morals. I would have never thought so 5 years ago. I would have been a hardened critic in fact. But when I was in Malaysia they actually filter out all of the crap that IS the only News our sensationalist media ever report. Movies are edited to exclude most violence and sex, even DVDs and HBO and premium channels.
After a month of being there my hot red blooded American stress level went from a constant 10 red line to about 2. As actually experiencing it, I can honestly say there was some benefit being sheltered from that crap.
Besides it's not like we have any journal integrity left in this country anyway. 90% of what we hear is altered or fabricated, taken out of context, distorted or just generally misreported as facts anyway. And God forbid a news agency would actually report positive news articles. They are the ministry of Negative reinforcement after all.

I still have the vinyl record, DE-E-EVO. That makes me nearly dead.

I was watching this crazy teevee show - Saturday Night Live - when these men came out in neon flowerpot hats and sang "Are We Not Men? DEVO!" My sis & I loved it but everyone else made fun of it.
I specifically remember my father saying that crazy teevee show would never last...
