HOW CAN YOU VOTE FOR A PERSON WHO WANTS TO RAISE YOUR TAXES AND CUT HIS OWN TAX BILL TO $0.00????????????

I want to hear honest answers why. I simply don't get it. Even if you've been programmed to hate Obama with every bone in your body, how can you cast a vote for this person?

Reader, do you chose to be a low informational voter?

    Question:

"How do republicans expect to convert the middle with lies and deceit when these voters are not low informational voters"?

    Answer:

Disenfranchise 5% of the population and prey

Hello All. I promised to be gone for a week just to see how things turned out and that's what I did. Which is relevant to this observation:

dublin hillz wrote: "Are you insinuating that in order for someone to be genuine about their feeling that there's inequities against the poor or lack of equal opportunies for minorities, that in order to be real, they have to live in the "hood"?"

I'm glad I took off the week because a statement like that is staggering. I'm used to cognitive dissonance from people with deeply held, and defended, beliefs but that one takes the cake. It's a cold admission the author doesn't even see a problem with his own hypocrisy whether I can demonstrate it or not. And who can blame him when he lives in an expensive, comfy cocoon of elitist white leftist hypocrites?

For starters: 1) Dublin said "hood", I didn't. Thats' a racially tinged term and if it were to appear on a tea party protest sign it would be cited as an example of their racism. Yet, as usual, leftists see no problems being racist because their party slogan is anti-racist (as they define anti-racism which is simply anti-white.) In their world, they like pondering why "intolerant" unbelievers refuse to see their Truth and Rightness yet they can't seem to keep their story straight. That's why I thought twice about breaking my word and posting earlier. I think about what I say and, er, think. (OK, that's meta!)
    2) The claimed purpose of leftism is that nobody should have to live in a "hood" but rather everyone, especially the working and middle class, should have an opportunity to live in a nice, safe neighbor"hood". Instead, they not only live in a segregated community, they price it out of the market for the very people they exploit and fool for political purposes.
    3) They claim to want to make the world into Sweden and they certainly love living in their lousy imitation of it (I've been to Sweden folks and it's a LOT more interesting and nice than suburban SF!) but they celebrate destroying that which they worship. It's like the suicide comet cult drinking cool aid to DESTROY the comet!

Those are the intellectual and philosophical observations. This is a personal (and heartfelt) one: JoeSchmoe, if your personal ideology undermines your preferred personal lifestyle, rather than enhances it, then what's the point? It's like being a vegetarian and eating burgers at McD's every day. That's not just hypocrisy but rather pointless. The only reason I can see is the need to be "cool" and accepted by ones friends. I find it amusing that I confront leftists with the obvious reasons I object to their ideology they claim foxnews, Rush Limbaugh, etc. "brainwashed" me yet they seem obsessed with personal acceptance worse than high schoolers. So you have my "honest" answer why I don't jump under the bus for the leftist paradise NOBODY seems to want to live in. Perhaps you should all find yours?

Rooemoor wrote: "The guy holding it says it was faked, but a Photoshop guru examined the hi-resolution photo and determined that it almost certainly was not faked." [regarding a photoshop sign with the word "niggar" used to make a political point.]

Hmmm, let's put some things into context here: Many leftists, I think even Obama himself, used the term "teabagger" to describe tea party activists and protesters. If a right winger had used that term just a few months before the tea party movement to describe a gay leftist, there would have been howls from the left over using a "homophobic" term as a "hate crime". When Sandra Fluke argued that she needed the state to pay for her contraceptives because upper middle class law students going to expensive schools are so broke and Rush said that made her a "slut", Sandra went on a victim-tour of how awful it was for Rush to say such a thing. They called for banning Rush. "Astroturf" consumers (paid activists) called into sponsors claiming they were going to boycott their products if they advertised on his show due to the offensiveness of the term.

Yet, Sandra Fluke most likely took part in, or approved, of a "slut walk" the week before.

Regarding photoshop. You guys are so unimaginative. I could just have my wife and some of her friends from a variety of ethnic backgrounds go out in front of my street and hold up signs and I could stage whatever I liked. Didn't you ever see "Wag the Dog?"

In the meantime, the left openly bashes white guys as Robert Riech said:
"And if construction jobs go mainly to white males who already dominate the construction trades, many people who need jobs the most — women, minorities, and the poor and long-term unemployed — will be shut out."

What I found funny about that was that everyone knows that Hispanics have recently taken over the construction field in many cities (such as Ross or Lafayette. They just can't afford to live there. Fiddle dee dee!)

Tecumcari, it's like Orwell said it: Obama is helping the middle class by lowering gas prices from $2 a gallon to $4 a gallon. Those evil Republicans want to hurt America by drilling and lowering prices rather than saving jobs in America by sending billions in stimulus money over to China and Germany to buy windmills. Get it? No? Then you're just a stupid, brainwashed Republican!

See my point above. Not too many of their party's supporters believe in such nonsense. They pay (a lot of) money to live in segregated neighborhoods to avoid the welfare recipients and entitlement seekers (Obama phones) that comprise the bulk of their voters. Shakers had a better long term ideological model. And they made great furniture!

The $2 gas prices were a temporary result of the financial crash. I really can't blame Obama for the "bounce back" to the $3-$4 range.

The world is burning through oil at an alarming rate. 10 years from now, $4 gasoline will seem like a bargain. That's not Obama's fault. Or Bush's fault.

And things are going peachy now? The high gas prices are probably due to a shortage of supply (much of it due to Obama against fossil fuel utilization), higher demand due to Asia coming online, and the FED printing up money and generating inflation. I should check to see what the price is in Zurich compared to 4 years ago...

Re: Obamaphones in 2008 and it being GW Bushes fault. Here's what Romney should have said in response to Obama's blaming GW Bush for his failures: GW Bush USED to be president. Obama is SUPPOSED to be president NOW. Heck, Romney didn't have to say it directly. Most in the audience were thinking it. One thing Obama promised for the next 4 years: High unemployment and gas prices but it's ok. He'll blame it on GW Bush. Really inspiring there with "hope and change."

But this isn't just Obama. It's the whole leftist ideology that promises us all Sweden but instead delivers overpriced limosine-liberal segregated enclaves and crime ridden slums for the rest and all they do is blame the evil right wingers. At least with oil companies, they DELIVER stuff that gets your car going. Teachers' unions in the states delivers the lowest quality of education in the developed world for the highest price. So how does that mean that nationalizing healthcare is going to be any better?

Romney just might win. Choke on it.

This is a good example of right wing propaganda.

The thinking (well not thinking, let's call it,...an implication) goes like this...

American public schools have teachers unions.

Some american public schools are far less than stellar.(not a majority - but a majority in the lowest socioeconomic areas such as inner cities).

Derrrr, it's obviously cause and effect. Take away the unions, and pay teachers less, and American schools are bound to get better ?

All I can say is, are there really very many Americans that are stupid enough to believe this propaganda ? What ? You want to fuck over the poor in America even worse, and take away the one of the only opportunities they have to improve their lives ?

You can say some BS about how hard it is to fire bad teachers or that they should change the way teachers are evaluated, but that is all slowly changing anyway. The truth is that there are many reasons why schools in low income areas do poorly. E.g., nutrition, attendance, gangs, irresponsible or immature parents (in some cases), a lack of good examples from class mates, a difficulty retaining good teachers because of how frustrating it is...the list goes on.

That's just it. You can't blame the teachers for everything. How are teachers going to teach if they have to spend 90% of their time babysitting?

The real crime, IMHO, is that the few parents/students in those areas who *want* an education are forced to stay in a school district which is overwhelmed by those who do not. In those kind of environments, the good students are often bullied by the rest for being too smart.

Marcus cries like Obama during a debate: "All I can say is, are there really very many Americans that are stupid enough to believe this propaganda ? What ? You want to fuck over the poor in America even worse, and take away the one of the only opportunities they have to improve their lives?"

    [pause for violin playing]

This characterization of my position based upon what I wrote is similar to Romney "saying" he wants to raise taxes on the "middle class" by $2K. There's no indication of it whatsoever. I merely observed that the poor don't have much a chance already based upon the lousy job the socialist teachers' unions are doing. You're trying to blame ME for THEIR lousy performance. If I talk about cutting pay for teachers doing a lousy job (which I didn't), then I took away the poor's chance. But what difference does it make if they're already doing a lousy job? Nice try at a red herring, but their Soviet system messing up and this begs the question: If socialist education isn't working here at the same claimed level as Europe, then what guarantee do we have that socialist medicine should be any better? It's not a question you want to answer so you want to segway to an ad-hominem attack.

Did you ever read the leftist written children's book "Why mommy is a Democrat?" It shows a picture of mommy squirrel feeding children with the caption: "Democrats feed the poor just like mommy does!" and in the distant background, there's a poor man sleeping on a bench with two well dressed (presumably evil republicans) walking by not helping.

I would like to show this to a child and ask them to ponder: If Democrats are supposedly helping the poor and giving them opportunities, then why do they continue to be poor and lack opportunities? Why isn't mommy squirrel feeding that guy? Why is ebonics not working out?

Freak80, I have a (liberal) lawyered up friend who answered that question for herself. When bullies bothered her daughter and threatened her with violence and harassment, she documented the incidents and called the police and got a police report. Then she got a lawyer. The school district paid for her daughter to go to a private school. Problem solved. I admire and respect her solution.

Get us out of the mess? He still hasn't matched the unemployment numbers of GW Bush! And let's go back further than Obama: What about FDR? What about LBJ and the great society? When is this wonder Soviet society of yours going to start working here? And in the meantime, in Europe, it's unraveling there. The car fires are lovely in North Paris this time at night...

But do feel smart and smug and superior in your overpriced suburban neighborhood. My working class father with a high school diploma probably had a bigger home than you, vacationed one month a year, and knew Latin, Polish, German, and English of course. And he worked in the private sector without being in a union. When do you and Obama stop bellyaching and making excuses? When do you show us how really smart you are?

8% unemployment is the new normal; so is 25% underemployment. Get used to it. If you want Jobs For All, everybody will be making $4.25/hour while Romney undoes the last tethers of Trickle Up plutocracy.

I can't wait for the car fires to come state side. A little controlled political violence would be a refreshing change from all the marketing that our government has become.

You probably think he could do it just as well now. Back when your working class father was making a good living (not in a union) there were plenty of union workers supporting wages up for everyone.

You think you know history ? And then you claim that undoing the benefits unions brought to the working class is just what America needs. Newsflash, that doesn't help get us back to how things were when your father was successful. It takes us back way further to the gilded age.

"there were plenty of union workers supporting wages up for everyone."

So how does Obama wanting to import millions of low wage illegals and looking the other way at H1B's help such people?

"if construction jobs go mainly to white males who already dominate the construction trades, many people who need jobs the most -- women, minorities, and the poor and long-term unemployed -- will be shut out." -- Robert Reich

"undoing the benefits unions brought to the working class"

If you weren't so busy trying (and needing) to blame the right for the lack of benefits that the left has so clearly given away for political purposes, you'd have a point. Marxism never goes after the rich (ok, for a short time in the USSR, they did) but in the end, they just engage in ethnic and political purges to redistribute shrinking assets. In the case of the left, overpriced surbuban segregated bay area housing. That's all your doing. You guys put a lot of effort into living like a Soviet citizen with 4 to a single room. Some working class guy in Alabama probably lives better!

This same woman used to run old fashioned Christmas tree lights around her place during the power shortage about 10 years ago and rolling blackouts. I loved it that tree huggers such as Barbara Streisand in Malibu were losing their power, internet, and 10 clothes dryers while residents of Santa Ana turned on their A/C's.

She also engaged in some tax tomfoolery that would make Harry Reid proud. And she voted straight Democrat. I prefer old fashioned crazy religion to this hypocrisy. I eat wafers of bread and wine that are actually human flesh and blood. Makes a hell of a lot more sense. And the pancakes are tasty too!

I wouldn't say what she was doing was legal. It was more a matter of her not easily getting caught. I'll leave it at that.

The religion of the left (marxism with the ideal utopia being Sweden) and that of Christianity are very similar. According to revelations, there will be conflict and a war and much suffering of humanity until the right and just, behind their leader Jesus Christ, take over the planet and build a perfect society.

The left's vision of tearing everything down and building the perfect world seems about as illogical. If you're a Tolkien fan, I'm sure you asked the question: "Why didn't the eagles take Frodo and Sam to Mount Doom, let him toss it in, and be done with the matter in a single chapter?" The same goes for the Marxist and Christian utopias. If Jesus comes back, it makes a temporary Earthly paradise silly. Why not just wrap matters up? And to make a Swedish utopia, you'd have to have "Swedes" still around which the left are tossing under the bus just to stay in power.

Regarding the God question, I would suggest getting the ebook with Philip K Dick's short story (just read it) the "Trouble with Bubbles" and, get this, "Worldcraft" world creations. Tons of fun.

In the case of the left, overpriced surbuban segregated bay area housing. That's all your doing. You guys put a lot of effort into living like a Soviet citizen with 4 to a single room. Some working class guy in Alabama probably lives better!

The overpriced bay area housing is due to several factors - lack of developable land, NIMBYism and the compensation level of people in high tech that drive up the prices for everyone else. The prices issue is not due to some conspiracy by the left to hog and "redistribute" shrinking assets. The lack of land that is not built out is a serious problem, that's why I moved where I currently live - best value for the money by far in the main Bay Area in large part due to the fact that there is place to build around my neck of the woods and a little further commute to san jose silicon valley which is tech central.

Regarding people living like cramped sardines - don't know anyone here who is lives that way deliberately - most of the times these people can't afford to live in different circumstances or are college students. Can't imagine many people who would volunteer to live that way - way too many problems!

I often get calls from recruiters asking if I would like to work in the Bay Area and I laugh and they laugh too. The area has a reputation for being overpriced and not worth working in for the average proletariat IT worker. No doubt there are 4 such poor souls crammed in San Jose and Santa Clara apartments thinking they're living the good life.

But there are inexpensive areas as I pointed out. Oakland for example has a diverse community with a high concentration of Democrat voters....

Limosine liberalism is an expensive religion. On the other hand, the Catholic Church gives you free wine, bread, and even pancakes for free!

HOW CAN YOU VOTE FOR A PERSON WHO WANTS TO RAISE YOUR TAXES AND CUT HIS OWN TAX BILL TO $0.00????????????

It appears the elimination on the capital gains tax is (at least now) restricted to those with incomes below $200k.

If that's true, then it wouldn't apply to Romney, leaving his tax bill about the same.

Quit being average! And if you need more money, why don't you just get some from your parents? I know a guy who got a cool 100 million from his pops.

    "Quit being average!"

Indeed, for all the talk the left tries to make with "the middle class" to fool remaining non-welfare state and non-government union worker rubes into voting for them, they really despise the "middle class" by definition. They want overpriced liberal limosine segregated suburbs for the "cool" people and the rest should live in slums and vote Democrat.

If you weren't so busy trying (and needing) to blame the right for the lack of benefits that the left has so clearly given away for political purposes, you'd have a point.

I was just reponding to your anti union bs.

Oh wait, I forgot, unions are the gateway to marxism.

Good thing then, I guess, that they're almost entirely gone. OF course that won't stop the typical right wing dim bulb from railing against them as if we were inches away from communist totalitarianism.

I guess even as your fascist wet dream is fully implemented you will still be talking about how we're moving ever so quickly toward communism.

My "fascist" wet dream? The OWS protesters didn't stop to yell at Goldman Sachs. In the meantime, the unions are doing quite well: government unions. Like teachers unions. The same ones who made American education at the bottom of developed nations despite public schools being run by the state.

I would have liked for Romney to have taken on Obama's teacher question directly. Yes, teachers do valuable work but does that mean the rest of the country should feel worthless about what they do? Do children need clean plumbing? Or electric lighting? The guys who provide that deserve credit too, yes? Heck, even someone working at a supermarket is helping to get food into children's bellies. And doctors. If leftists love doctors so much, why do they gripe about the high cost of medical care? Aren't doctors highly trained professionals? (In theory, they have a union. It's the AMA.)

Regarding communism: Indeed, as with the USSR, after the rich are liquidated (or set up as members of the elite, hello George Soros), there are "party members" with access to the Gum store and the rest of the folks who live in slums. Look up Oakland.

It's a complex answer. It's a governing philosophy of which taxes are just one of many segments.
It appears by your question you are one of those 'single issue' voters. That's ok...most people are but won't admit it...

I want to hear honest answers why. I simply don't get it.
