I stopped by the open house this weekend, and there were a couple of things that a real-estate agent probably would not tell you.
1. It is listed as a 3 bedroom, but it is really a master suite with one other bedroom. You can see from the third “bedroom” is pretty small and separated from the master with glass French doors. They had it staged with a crib, and I suppose it would work for a baby or perhaps as an office, but I did not think that it was really a viable third bedroom.
2. He has long sense retired, but I have an uncle who was 6’3” 220+lbs in his prime. He worked construction and whenever he was evaluating a house one test he would perform was jumping up and down in the living room. This home would have failed that test miserably. Just walking in the living room made the TV and stand shake quite a bit (I am 6’2” 210 lbs.) and I could feel the floor creak and groan under my feet. I worried that if I had jumped on the “softest” spot I would have gone crashing through the floor.
Other than those items it seemed like an OK home. It was set right next to a creek (dry at the time), and had a long and thin, but decent yard that backed up to an open field.
Also, there seemed to be quite a lot of foot traffic going through the open house.
