http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/polls/226943-poll-romney-opens-up-big-lead-nationally
Mitt Romney has opened up 7 percent lead over President Obama nationally, according to the latest survey from conservative polling outlet Rasmussen.
Romney took 50 percent of the vote against Obama’s 43. It’s the first time Romney has hit 50 percent in the poll and is his largest lead over the president to date.
The disappointing jobs data released last week could be weighing the president down. Rasmussen found that only 38 percent of those polled said they approved of the president’s handling of the economy, versus 48 that disapproved.
Still, the poll could be an outlier, as most polls show a considerably tighter race. According to Gallup’s daily tracking poll, Romney holds only a 1 percent lead over Obama, while the president holds a one-point lead over Romney in the Real Clear Politics average of polls.
The RCP average includes Romney’s seven-point Rasmussen lead, as well as a few other potential outliers, including an Associated Press poll that shows Obama up by eight and a Reuters poll that shows Obama up by seven — both of which were released this week.
The Rasmussen daily tracking poll of 500 likely voters has a 3 percent margin of error.
Him draw bad card...

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Mitt Romney attracting 49% of the vote, while President Obama earns support from 44%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.
That's a 5 point lead for Romney!

Why would I do that? I have no doubt that Rasmussen is reporting a lead for Romney just as I have no doubt that Rasmussen blew a Senate poll by 40 points.
Rasmussen is the clown show of the polling industry.
It doesn't matter anyway. Romney isn't going to win without Ohio, and Romney isn't going to win Ohio.

The truth? You mean the truth of the Rasmussen poll? Are you having trouble reading this morning? I already said I totally agree that Rasmussen is putting out polling data showing Romney is in the lead.
Of course if what you really mean is the truth of a Romney victory in November, I suggest you get a dictionary and look up what the word means.

Again.......Romney WILL sign the Ryan act and virtually eliminate taxes from the aristocracy leaving YOU to pay the bills. Romney will nominate Supreme Court justices who will solidify corporate power and reaffirm 1 dollar, 1 vote. Romney will increase military spending and launch a pre-emptive strike on Iran to make sure he's a two-termer like Bush.
Is there anything left to fuck up? You haven't seen anything yet.

Totally false which is why you'll never show any support for this lunacy. Besides the claim that a 0% tax on capital gains is going to increase tax receipts from capital gains is screwy even for you.

How will that happen if he would be so terrible?
As far as pre-emptive strikes, aren't you the one touting Obama as an efficient Terrorist killer. He uses drone strikes with out any agreement with any committee of sorts. Albeit National or International collaboration.
Obama fires at will with more impunity than G.W. Bush.
Plus he takes credit for other people's kill.

This is far superior in every conceivable way to what Bush did.
1. Cheaper by several orders of magnitude
2. Fewer innocent lives lost by several orders of magnitude
3. We actually kill the bad guys instead of killing soldiers working for the bad guys
4. We create an image of the United States as the technologically superior country that can kill terrorists at will no matter where they are.
5. International relations suffer far less damage from a few unauthorized police actions than decimating an entire country.

Pure fantasy. This only happens in a very short window of about 3-6 months before and after a tax rate change when everyone hoards up their capital gains before a tax decrease or cashes out of capital gains before a tax increase. Longer term aka "history" it's not true at all. fail on this point.

Part of the reason it's a powder keg is that Republicans kill 100 Muslims every time a single American dies from a terrorist act. Stop voting for Republicans and maybe things will get better.

You said by lowering taxes via the Ryan act, tax receipts would increase. Since the Ryan act lowers taxes on all investments to zero, it's hard to see how you determined:
Ruki says
So what you're arguing here is lowering taxes (to zero) would increase tax revenues. I assume you're talking about a 100% increase on the 0% tax rate or something like that?

Iwog: Apples.
Thomas: You said Oranges, right Iwog?
Lowering capital gains to zero will not increase employment and will not create higher receipts from federal and state income taxes.
Furthermore the Ryan plan will reward oil speculators for making oil more expensive, it will reward grain speculators for making cereal more expensive, it will reward corporate raiders like Romney for raping and killing businesses, and it will reward landlords for making homes more expensive so how the fuck is any of this going to help create jobs??????
Do you know what creates jobs? Raising the minimum wage. It creates jobs by creating demand for products by consumers. Do you know what destroys jobs? Lowering the tax rate on billionaires because it gives all the liquid wealth to the hoarders.

LOL! Minimum wage only protects jobs with wages already well above the minimum. Jobs with natural wages below the minimum will be permanently destroyed.
For example, if the restroom attendant at a department store has a market wage below the minimum wage (gratuity can be significant), he or she will no longer have a job. The bathroom will be smelly, and I will not want to shop there.
It is a lose-lose-lose proposition.
If we want to lower unemployment rate the best way is to abolish the minimum wage.
Even air-dropping money from a helicopter will do less damage than having a minimum wage.

Economy gained 20M jobs after the Clinton tax rise:
http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?g=98C
8M after the Bush tax cuts.
Of course, it wasn't the Bush tax cuts that got the economy going again, it was the massive spike in borrowing 2001-2006 that floated that boat:
http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?g=98D
red line is per-capita annual debt take-on.
Over $10,000 per person per year, 2004-2008. Total scam economy; well done Republicans for finally reinstating your silly ideology and having it kill us again after 80 years off.

No. AFAICT the Clinton boom was thanks to the feel good times of the Soviet empire collapsing, cheap oil, PC take-up in business (and GUIs making them more productive than MS-DOS), the increasing globalization trend, rise of big-box retail stores, and the demographics of the baby boom (the median boomer was 35 in 1990), and the system having worked off the excess debt loads of the 1980s.
I'd link to graphs but FRED is down now.

I predicted Ted Cruz to lose against David Dewhurst in Texas. It didn't happen.
The tax initiative in Georgia got crushed as well. I spent some time in Atlanta and they NEED infrastructure there in the worst possible way but right now, the political winds are against it.
November 6th is going to be an absolute fucking earthquake, on a level with the loss of 63 seats in the House all at once in 2010. That's fourteen percent of the entire body...gone, flipped to the other party, in a flash. Incredible!

Ahhh....now I understand!!!!!! You still haven't read the Ryan plan.
All taxes on individuals are reduced to zero under the Ryan plan with one exception: Taxes on people who earn wages.
Lowering is a fiction you made up. The correct term is abolishing. The Ryan plan abolishes all (yes all) taxes on investment. Therefore your argument is that lowering taxes on investment (your term) will increase tax revenue on investments.
1000% of 0% perhaps?

She knows better. That's what the Fox News, stir-up-shit-and-scream crowd wants to hear. It is NOT what the party establishment types want to hear and they're running things this time around.
I'm fairly confident the VP nominee will be Portman.
As far as Obama winning a second term is concerned, there's nothing I've seen so far that shows me it is possible. David Dewhurst is as establishment Republican as it gets and when he gets knocked off his pedestal you know something wild is gonna happen.

Romney will win because Americans who are not making nine-figure incomes are trained to believe they are worthless, evil scum and Romney loves reminding them of their heinous unworthiness.
His last ads will hammer it home.
"Fuck you, scum-sucking plebs, I own you. I'll chop you into bits and feed you to the pigs I feed to my horses and you'll thank Moroni for the honor. I'm Mitt Romney and approve of this timeless truth. Blow me. Or chew the smegma off my horses' gonads, if you're a guy."
The teabaggers will vote in droves. He'll raise their taxes, FICA and eliminate social security to fund complete elimination of taxes for people making over 7 figures.
Then he will sign an executive order rescinding the 13th and 14th Amendments and issue Executive Helicopter Hunting licenses for an unlimited cull of melanin enhanced non-voters before 2016 elections that Karl Rove will announce on Christmas Eve 2015 as OPERATION GHETTO STORM.

Romney is a spoiled idiot who is owned by the corporations and doesn't care a tiny bit about the average citizen. Period. Not that I care for Obama as a second choice, but I'd rather have Obama than that twit of a man. I'm voting for Ron Paul, since Obama will win California by a landslide, so I can do that without feeling like I'm throwing my vote away.

Just another indication of the rightward movement of the republican base. This doesn't translate into a move rightward by the country as a whole, just an affirmation of a trend in the republican primaries. Latest polls show a tilt toward Obama in Ohio and Florida while Penn. is pretty much no longer in contention (if it ever was). In a quirk of fate some of the swing states have seen significant improvements in their economies verses the nation as a whole. Romney, ideas aside, is just a terrible politician and an un-likable plutocrat. It really is a amazing he got the nomination, that is until you look at his competition in the primaries.
