Here is what people do not understand about our political system:

The elections are organized so that we elect (or nominate) one person at a time in a single district at a time.

The whole purpose of doing it this way is that powerful interests can target and corrupt each candidate one at a time. Basically, if the candidate refuses to comply with big money, they will find a way to have the candidate removed and replaced with their own favorite.

Most people are not even aware that this is going on.

This system comes from the corrupt practises of England in the 1600s and 1700s, and we have done very badly by adopting it. Very few of the free nations of the world use this system, and we should not either.

Let's take a poll: How many people know how the people elect their representatives in Germany, France, Be-Ne-Lux, all Scandinavian nations, and many other places?
