    Quote from it:

Daniel Suelo is 51 years old and broke. Happily broke. Consciously, deliberately, blessedly broke.

Not only does he not have debt, a mortgage or rent, he does not earn a salary. Nor does he buy food or clothes, or own any product with a lower case "i" before it. Home is a cave on public land outside Moab, Utah. He scavenges for food from the garbage or off the land (fried grasshoppers, anyone?). He has been known to carve up and boil fresh road kill. He bathes, without soap, in the creek.

Now there is a self-made man.

I'd still wait to move into the cave. He can get a larger one for the same price next year. :)

This is tongue in cheek, but road kill would not exist were it not for the man-made roads on which these morsels were produced by the man-made cars running on man-extracted fuels. There are a lot more efficient ways to get meat.

BTW, this guy is nothing special. 30 MILLION people in China live in caves:

To put it in perspective. That's more people than is in the whole state of Texas. And a lot of these people rabbit or squirrel roadkill would be a delicacy.

You don't have to be bitter simply because the man chose to live in a cave over paying rent for your meth lab out in Newbury Park.

I'm also bitter that because of the stench from the meth lab, I'll probably not get back my cleaning deposit which might come in handy if I ever need bail.

The cave has more space than most bay area SFRs.
